Hello. I noticed that you merged the content of How to handle rope into the Rope article a few days ago. If you do merge articles, please could you put in the edit summary something like "text moved from Page"? Otherwise it gives the impression that you are creating the content yourself. I think it's important to allow people to attribute content to its original authors. And I should point out that the "minor edit" tag is reserved for trivial edits such as formatting and spelling corrections and so on, which don't need any attention paid to them. So please don't mark edits which add text as minor. Certainly not edits that merge in the entire contents of another article - that's about as major an edit as you can get! :) Thanks... -- Oliver P. 06:48, 8 Oct 2003 (UTC)
That's okay. Thanks for the reply. I've actually added a note to Talk:Rope to say who wrote the bit on "How to handle rope", in case anyone does want to keep track. To be honest, I don't think you'd want to take credit for that section, anyway. ;) -- Oliver P. 07:08, 8 Oct 2003 (UTC)

GFDL
Hi. if you move something to Wiktionary, please can you state who the original authors were to adhere to the GFDL. I normally write the authors and the original page address in the edit summary when I paste it in. Otherwise there is no record of that person's contribution when the article here is deleted. You just need the 5 main authors, so if someone has just added a VfD notice - you don't have to list them. Thanks. Angela 00:21, Oct 12, 2003 (UTC)
I have nominated you for adminship. You can accept the nomination at Misplaced Pages:Requests for adminship. Cheers, Cyan 02:57, 15 Oct 2003 (UTC)
It's done, you're now a sysop. If you haven't already done so, you should probably read:
- Misplaced Pages:Protected page
- Misplaced Pages:Deletion guidelines for administrators
- Misplaced Pages:Bans and blocks
- Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. It's a quite a good book.
