Hi
I just want to say, wow, I am impressed with all of your contributions to South Asian (Indian) related subjects, including info on various South Asian empires and polities. I myself am trying to improve many different Chinese-related articles, and have several up to Good Article status at least. For the most part English wikipedia.org is an incredible source for many Western-history related subjects, but it lacks a lot of quality in its articles on general Asian history (let alone a general lacking of actual articles existent on the subject). Don't waver in the face of many enormous tasks ahead of you, though, keep providing your valued service in enriching the public's knowledge; in other words, keep contributing to wiki!--PericlesofAthens 19:21, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
Just to Inform you
You and the number of articles you have successfully submitted to DYK has been noted here because you have been discovered as one of the twenty-five highest DYK article contributors. If you feel compelled to continue to update your number of DYKs on this list, and therefore the list itself, then it would be very helpful and help make sure that the list is as up-to-date as possible. If you, indeed, do not wish to be present on this list, then please notify me, the creator. Regards, —A • D 11:37, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

References
Economy section has too many facts and figures which are all equally vital and important. So if you bring back reference for one point, other points look like they lack references. Economy sub-article has everything covered. So I thought making that section reference-free. Let me know what you think.Gnanapiti 16:55, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
Karnataka template
Hello KNM, Is there a way the the template can be set to "hide" mode by default. For example, when we include the Karnataka template in articles related to Kannada/Karnataka, is there a way we can have it autohidden with option to expand (using show) only when required. This will help for small articles, where the template looks big compared to the rest of the article. Thanks, -- Naveen 16:41, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks KNM. Was a little busy with Real life. Meanwhile, great job with all the DYKs and FAs. -- Naveen 16:56, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, this was precisely what I was looking at. Thanks -- Naveen 17:03, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
- That was a general compliment meant for the WP:KAR project (of which you are a major contributor) :-). Anyway, I will definately take a look at Karnataka. This is one article, I was longing to see as an FA. -- Naveen 17:12, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
KA-PR
Yes, it should go thru general PR. The last thing we want is someone coming along and claiming it was not open to general public (during FAC) and asking for it to go back to PR.!Dineshkannambadi 19:07, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
If we have two parallel PR's going now, we should remove it from Misplaced Pages:WikiProject India/Peer review/Karnataka and keep it open only on General PR.Dineshkannambadi 19:10, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
If we dont get too much feedback from the general PR, then we can go to India/PR. But we should let the India guys know that KA is in general PR now.Dineshkannambadi 19:12, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

Apology to you
KNM,
Thank you for your kind and thoughtful reply (now archived) on Dinesh's page which was brought to my attention accidentally after it was so quickly removed by Dinesh. I too readily assumed that you were treating me as Dinesh had been since most of your interactions with me seemed to pertain to the pages over which Dinesh had ownership at the time. I am truly sorry in misunderstanding you. Please accept my deepest apologies. I thank you so much for being sensitive and respectful to me, rather than being dismissive. I am grateful I was able to read your words. Sincerely, Mattisse 15:59, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
You are most welcome
Thank you for your kind words on my talk page. "Karnataka" is an important article and it was evident that a lot of hard work had already gone into it; therefore, I took my time and tried to treat it with care and great respect. My motto is "let well enough alone", but there are advantages to being a native speaker. Namaste, Writtenright 04:50, 6 July 2007 (UTC)Writtenright

Image license
Looks like I forgot to add image license to my "Lakkundi Brahma Jainalya.JPG" file. I tried to re-upload the file with correct license tag but it did not work. What do I do, short of renaming the file. I was adding images to Western Chalukya page.Dineshkannambadi 12:02, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Removal of WikiProject Dravidian civlizations template
"KNM, may I ask why are you removing the Dravidian civilizations templates from articles that fall under the scope of Dravidian civilizations?" Wiki Raja 05:57, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
- Because, as mentioned in the edit summaries, the template was irrelevant. IMO, there is no such thing called, Dravidian Civilization. - KNM 02:57, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- Like before, you, Gnanapiti, and Sarvagnya have not come up with a single quoted source or reference to back up your claims or disclaims. I on the otherhand have been providing numerous sources upon request. Wiki Raja 05:30, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
speedy deletion
A few image files of mine need to be deleted because they are duplicates. How do I do it. BTW, the files are
Kannada devanagari Badamicave inscription.jpg
Virupaksha temple inscription1.jpg
Chandragiri templecomplex .jpg Dineshkannambadi 00:56, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
I noticed that the BOT after marking a duplicate image file for deletion leaves info regarding the duplicate on the original image file page. Does this info go away after the duplicate is speedy deleted?Dineshkannambadi 01:25, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- I will look into these images. - KNM 02:58, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- All the images uploaded by you, are fine as of now. The duplicate images are already deleted. There is no 'Dupicate image' info in any of the existing images now. So there is nothing to worry or no action required. Thanks. - KNM 03:09, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
Temples of Karnataka
This article just reminded me that at some point, a grand article called "Architecture of Karnataka" is a must. This will include all topics from the start of Kadamaba arch. all the way to Mysore kingdom arch. I still need to deal with arch. of chalukyas and vijyanagara first. So the "Architecture of KA" is about a year away.Dineshkannambadi 15:31, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
- Indeed a very interesting thought! You are right, it will require several solid sub-articles on various different architectures. Let me know if I can be of any help. Thanks - KNM 16:08, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Kongu Nadu. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits you too from making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. - PONDHEEPANKAR 14:47, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
Chalukya Page
Hello KNM,
I just wanted to inquire why this rejected theory was notable? The only reason user phg included it in there is because it would expand his notion of a greater Hellenistic era in India. He claims every indian dynasty under the sun as being descendants of greeks, which is obviously inaccurate. I do not wish to engage in an edit war with you, but we should have a crisp and unencumbered origin section rather than including all crackpot theories under the sun. After all, there may be those who might wish to argue babylonian or egyptian as well. There are some users who claim all major indian dynasties as jat progenitors (no offense to jat users). As such, the preferential inclusion of this theory does not benefit the reader. Hope we understand each other. Thanks.

Dont revert Rahul Dravid, he is not a kannadiga. The sentence ur deleting is supported by a source read it carefully in addition to 4-5 more sources which will state he is Maharashtrian Deshastha Bramhin and speaks Marathi are available against your one. If Rahul Dravid is kannadiga since he stays in Bangalore than Aishwarya Rai is also a Maharashtrian since she stays in Mumbai which is not true. So dont put kannada script there.
