He is considered the most talented young German keeper. He won the starting position from experienced keeper Frank Rost midway through the first half of the 2006-2007 Bundesliga season. He was voted as the best goalkeeper in the German Bundesliga by fellow football players. Neuer was recently called up by Joachim Löw to participate in a fitness test.
