Shaun Glass co-founded the aggressive rock band SOiL, where he held the position of guitarist. The band struggled to reach international status, releasing one album and one EP: El Chupacabra and Throttle Junkies. After two unsuccessful attempts, the band reached rapid success with their CD, Scars, in 2001. The name echoes the harsh, emotional lyrical content SOiL grew to encompass as its mark. Their success may partially be allotted to their first experience under a major record label, J Records. The band released Redefine, their second successful album, in 2004. Their third album, True Self was released May 2, 2006, and experienced less success. Soon after in Novemeber of 2007, Shaun announced that he had left Soil to pursue his new band Dirge. He remains endorsed by ESP guitars.
