Requests for IP check

  • Vandal and attack accounts may be listed here for the purpose of identifying and blocking the underlying IP address or open proxy. Requests to confirm sockpuppets of known users should be listed in the sockpuppet section above.
  • If you already know the IP address of the suspected open proxy, list it at Misplaced Pages:Open Proxies instead.
  • Use === Subsections ===; do not create subpages.
  • List user names using the {{checkuser|username}} template. Add new reports to the top of the section.
  • Requests may be acted on or declined according to the discretion of the checkuser admins. Responses will be noted here.
  • Answered requests will be moved to Misplaced Pages:Requests for checkuser/IP check/Archive for 7 days, after which they will be deleted. No separate archive (other than the page history) will be maintained.

Europebound2007

It all started when Europebound2007 spammed blog sites to upcoming albums. The blogs link to a virus where the spammer falsely claims the album was leaked. Since Europebound2007's block, several accounts and IPs have been spamming the same blogspot sites, most commonly at Saturday Nights, Sunday Mornings. Is there a common range that can be blocked? Gustafson Bashers

A load of attack names intended to belittle/attack Jeffrey O. Gustafson (talk · contribs). Suspect an IP who has a beef with him or another reason to be so blatant in their dislike of him. -Jéské 05:45, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Confirmed - all of them, plus a few more. All blocked.
IP blocked - for quite some time - Alison 18:14, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Spambot

Spamming using XRumer. Underlying IP is probably an open proxy or a zombie box. Thanks. MER-C 10:51, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

Busted an IP asking for an XRumer link at Talk:Bulletin board system: 85.140.221.74 (talk · contribs). Filed a request at WP:OP. -Jéské 23:28, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
XRumer is designed to use a different IP for each spam run, so I'd proceed with the check. I don't remember an IP being used for two or more spam runs. MER-C 01:40, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
IP blocked - for 5 years (!!!) by another admin. Open proxy - Alison 18:18, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
