Located approximately 10 kilometers southeast of Asajaya town, it is the best school in Asajaya District.
History
The formation of SMK Semera was suggested by PIBG members, leaded by Mr.Haji Taha Bin Salleh. During old times, students had to find a secondary school in another district - Simunjan. That forces PIBG to build a secondary school in Semera. Semera is a village that consists of approximately 400 students. The number of students allows the formation of SMK Semera.
1982
In 1982, PIBG and the villagers built 7 rooms - 2 for classes, 2 for office and 3 for teacher's quarters. The school also had to “borrow” 2 classes from a primary school - SRK Haji Kelali, Semera. SMK Semera was called SMK Sadong Hilir at that time.
1990
The school had moved to a new place - behind the village. The name SMK Sadong Hilir was also changed to SMK Semera. According to Mr. Zainuddin bin Kuan, Sarawak Educational Assistant Manager, The name “Semera” meant “at the same time”, for the cholera event that killed hundreds of villagers.
