Notice: to all persons who visit any page within "hopiakuta": due to the fact that several of you have complained about my signature, & refused to negotiate,.... I now declare that anyone whose signature does not match their username, userpage, screenname, et al, is not welcome. All signatures must be identifiable as your screenname, or I shall consider it vandalism, spam. Honest people, w/ truthful screennames, are welcome.
I only want honest messages on this page, no fraudulent screennames, please.
If your signature has a contradictory screenname, other than your userpage, if you would explain that contradiction in the final paragraph of each message, then I can accept that.
Anything else is fraud, deception, vandalism, spam.
Thank You,

corruption
Hello, many of your edits seem corrupted; if you're having problems or questions, please see Misplaced Pages:Questions or Misplaced Pages:Help desk. -- intgr 23:39, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
You have new messages (last change).
You may have a slight misconception. I am employing a ten year old machine. My edits are largely what I type; but, the thing freezes, crashes, on large pages, which is likely what your reference is. It, as well, would freeze &/or crash f/ whatever other use might annoy it.
As f/ corrupt edits, although mine seem to come-through fine; however, it converts foreign characters on the page to question marks, ?. Characters of France, Spain, seem to rarely get deleted.
Please, if I cannot go to that page, how might I convince this machine to only concentrate on what I typewrite?
Thank You,

I do get far too much of this, even where no other person is involved:
- Edit conflict
- User talk:Hopiakuta
- Someone else has changed this page since you started editing it, resulting in an edit conflict. The upper text area contains the page text as it currently exists (without your changes). Your version of the page (with your changes) is shown in the lower text area. You will have to merge your changes into the existing text in the upper text area to incorporate your edits. Only the text in the upper text area will be saved when you press "Save page"; all other changes in the lower text area will be lost.

The Misplaced Pages database is temporarily in read-only mode for the following reason:
The database has been automatically locked while the slave database servers catch up to the master
This is probably due to routine maintenance; if so, you will be able to edit again within a few minutes. We apologize for any inconvenience this might have caused. You can continue to browse Misplaced Pages articles while the database is locked. For further information, you can visit the #wikipedia channel on the freenode IRC network.

Your signature
Whatever you're trying to do with your signature, it's not working. KurdzenWeys 20:16, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
...But, however, it, actually is; here's why:
When other persons do not sign a signature, I can copy this :

Please do sign your signature!! ¡ ¿ ~~ !!
- And that means absoloutely nothing. KurdzenWeys 13:34, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
If you can not conceive of this as an alert, that's one thing; but, does mean anything?
Absolutely? Wow, such pomposity.
We do need a better signature solution,....
Every time that a talkpage, discussionpage, is edited, a signature should automatically attach to the bottom, unless the message-author would otherwise set the parameters.
Five unsigned messages in one week, & their parameters would be overridden, for six months.
If you would all sign then I could shorten my signature, or employ one of those art illegible signatures, w/ the silly offensive colors, tiny characters,.... & several of the other qualities that make the pages unreadable.
Thank You,

Redirects to Wiktionary
Redirects to wiktionary are not valid candidates for speedy deletion. They are not "articles" in the sense indicated by the criteria for speedy deletion. Please stop tagging them for deletion. older ≠ wiser 15:21, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
Your fraudulent screnname is vandalism, by my definition.
As is your self-contradictory-rationale.
As you can clearly see above, all external redirects are now violative.
Unless you reactivate mine; or explain the distinction.
I, hereby, demand that they all be reviewed.
Making these requests is exactly according to the regulations; you can decide whether to comply in a fair manner, or admit fraud.
I do note that you have complied w/ some of the deletions that I have requested; though not others: Why????
Explain your deceptive signature in each message.
] 15:35, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
- First stop ranting about my signature. Sorry if you don't like it, but that's just too bad.
- Second, whatever it is that you mean by As you can clearly see above, all external redirects are now violative. -- I do not think redirects to wiktionary are not deletable under the criteria for speedy deletion. I did not delete any of the deletions you requested -- those were done by another editor. I have restored them. older ≠ wiser 16:09, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

oops Thank You for reactivating "oops", which is how I pronounce ups,... frequently, not necessarily universally. The parcel truth.
On a mutual basis, it does seem that your perceptions, my perceptions, reciprocally annoy (&/or infuriate) each other.
However, if you do do something that I would consider helpful, assistive, positive, productive, ethically, if feasible, I should thank you; therefore, I do, hereby, Thank You.
Please do meet me halfway on two other factors,...:
In your final paragraph, declare your screenname, so that it is legible. Please do respect my disability access need.
Further, if creating oops is prohibited, then it is approved,...
We certainly do need a consistent policy, so that the authority f/ page #one, applies to page #two, page #three, page #four,... et cetera.
If I can comprehend something, then I am much more likely to comply, much like most persons. If a regulation seems self-contradictory, then complication is much more likely than the capability to comply.
Certainly a webpage created as an impractical joke should be deleted.
This website advertizes that it is f/ everybody; when shall that be??
____
Thank You f/ the reactivation,

While I was scribing this comment, someone scribed another message, that I do not know how to decrypt, though part of it does paraphrase something that I had written.

Your random removal of approximately 20% of the Eureka, California article in your edit of that article
Are you aware that you removed the entire bottom portion of the Eureka, California Article? I am not sure what happened, but I wanted to call it to your attention. A great deal of work done to that article was wiped away in a key stroke by your hand. This type of editing is disturbing to one who has labored long and hard to develop an article. Further you placed question marks anywhere there were metric measurements in the beginning of the article. These units of measurement are standard Wiki procedure. My hope is that by bringing this to your attention, you may avoid such a massive article upset in the future. Norcalal 08:26, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
Please do include a legible, readable, screenname.
As for your message, if anything had been deleted, particularly on such a scale, I simply do not know what to say,... I had not attempted to alter any of that, at all.
Is it conceivable that anyone could read the serverlog, in order to discern what could've occurred? If someone could do so, then, possibly, they could figure how to avoid it from recurring.
If I had somehow caused that, well, I am simply sorry. Certainly, if someone would intentionally do that, it would be vandalism.
I am taking a very long time to typewrite this, as I do not comprehend enough to say much of anything worth having been said. Certainly such an incident deserves a description, which I do not have. It deserves a response; but I have very little of that, except to babble. Whenever a person answers a question, they should include appropriately credible content; if I could think of any, I would have completed this message, & saved it, half an hour ago, an hour ago.

Talk: Barack Obama
Please stop. If you continue to use talk pages such as Talk:Barack Obama for inappropriate discussion, as described here, you may be blocked. If you have a point that is relevant to the editing of the article, please make it in a cogent manner. Tvoz |talk 08:00, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
If listing his quotes from yesterday is in violation, then, once again, this website proves its bias.
] 08:10, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
- The problem is you did not identify those as his quotes, nor did you make any point - did you want them included in the article in some way? If so, say where and why. The article talk page is not a forum for airing of anyone's opinions about the subject - it is for discussion how to edit the page. I'm sorry, but your entries were incomprehensible. Tvoz |talk 08:17, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
If you'd like to compile lists of quotations, the place to go is Wikiquote. Misplaced Pages articles are not mere collections of quotes, and talk pages certainly aren't. Best, Iain99 16:37, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
I've already put an explanation there.
Thank You.
&, I am truly pleased that the past couple of signatures seem to match the screennames; that's progress.
] 17:10, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
- Not really, no - you have not put an explanation there. You've said these are quotes from Obama, but give no sources, which is your responsibility as the one providing the quotes, not others' responsibility to go hunt them down. But more importantly, you have not indicated why you've posted them or what point you think they illustrate. They don't belong on the article's talk page, and it's not clear where in the article you think any of them would belong. Iain99's suggestion is good about Wikiquotes. Tvoz |talk 17:31, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
I did offer an explanation; but, I had neglected the proof:
I had sincerely thought that many other people would have heard it. So, it seems, the people who care about those pages, had never heard it:
Thank You,
] 18:10, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
- I was not questioning the authenticity of the quotes - I was explaining that to include them in any wikipedia article you'd need to include references - direct quotes have to have specific citations attached to them, so that they can be verified by anyone who wants to do so. The Congressional Record, newspaper articles citing them, etc - reliable sources. And they need to have context and some indication of what point they are illustrating. I can't speak for anyone else, but as one of the people who edits the Obama pages, yes, I heard his comments at the hearing, but that is not relevant to anything - you seem to be offering them up as something that should be included in the article, so you need to do the legwork and give the sources and context. Other editors can always refine it, but you need to give us more than just some quotes without anything else. So why don't you try Bobblehead's suggestion on the article talk page and see how it might fit into the advocacy section - you can post your draft on talk first if you like - and/or consider the separate article specifically about his political positions where it might fit more comfortably. The point is - you chose to bring these quotes forward, and presumably you had a point you wanted to make. So please share that with us - if you don't want to tackle the actual adding of this to the article that's ok - maybe someone else will then come along and get it, and he or she might try incorporating the quotes into the article. And one other thing - your accusations of bias are neither productive nor accurate, so could you please stop that. Tvoz |talk 19:59, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
Do you use a screen reader?
On your talk page, you have said "please do respect my disability access need". Are you using a screen reader? I am blind and I am an administrator who uses one - I would be happy to help you out with any questions you may have. There is a little help at wikipedia:using JAWS and some tidbits at wikipedia talk:accessibility. If you are using a screen reader, which one are you using and what version is it? I could try to help you out with your editing issues - for example when people say that you accidentally turn some text into question marks, that is caused by some part of your system not supporting unicode characters. Graham87 02:33, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
Thank You.
Thank You.
Thank You.
I did want to stress that first, respect to respect; however, in a variety of ways, my electronic-disabilities, physical-disabilities, emotional-disabilities, cognitive-disabilities, are slightly different than all of that.
Far too difficult & painful to typewrite that right now; however, some of it could be spoken telephonically, per your instructions, whatever they might be, if that would be acceptable. My disabilities do include many complex complications, complicated complexities. Did I communicate that I am complex? If we do speak, w/o keyboard, then I might add an additional pun @ some point. That's my warning; lots of people have listened to them w/ no warning.
Anyhow, truly describing what the problem is; well, I've been attempting to describe it in various messages since June, 2006, when I had found an extremely racist, extremely handicappist, policy page, about vandalism. @ the time, I did not really know much of anything about opening a page, nor an account, et al.
Naturally, as the page had been about vandalism, & because I did not know how to open a page, I was, obviously, immediately, accused of vandalism. It took several months for anyone to actually read my complaints; I was repetitively accused of vandalism, & a variety of other crimes. One time, someone had actually cancelled my account f/ a few hours; although the message @ that specific moment had not specifically been about disability-access, directly.
Anyway, eventually, I had convinced one of you to cancel that webpage, in terms of its being presented as policy. Now, although the page is no longer there, I do contend that the attitude persist, virulently. I do sense it w/ virtually every message that I scribe,..... & every page that I peruse .
You obviously feel otherwise about this website; however, I do sense a persistent aura of disability genocide, underclass genocide. If you can comprehend this, when society removes the specific veneer, the actual policy, of segregation, oppression, exclusion, et cetera,... The poison, the corrupting venom, may persist in the various bodily fluids, akin to destroying lymph, blood, marrow,....
I do know that you had expected that my primary disability, my severest disability, would be visual in nature. Now, although I currently have my machine set @ twenty pica, that is far from being my severest symptom. It is far down on the list, one of many thousands of symptoms.
Sorry f/ not having the response that you had wanted; but, I thought that this should be said.
Thank You,
DonFphrnqTaub Persina,

Henry Louis Mencken a mistake:
- You never push a noun against a verb without trying to blow up something.
- In a 26 July 1920 article in the Baltimore Evening Sun, Mencken wrote about the difficulties of good men reaching national office when such campaigns must necessarily be conducted remotely:
- The larger the mob, the harder the test. In small areas, before small electorates, a first-rate man occasionally fights his way through, carrying even the mob with him by force of his personality. But when the field is nationwide, and the fight must be waged chiefly at second and third hand, and the force of personality cannot so readily make itself felt, then all the odds are on the man who is, intrinsically, the most devious and mediocre — the man who can most easily adeptly disperse the notion that his mind is a virtual vacuum.
- The Presidency tends, year by year, to go to such men. As democracy is perfected, the office represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.
- Mencken's paper published his "secret diary" in 1989, kept sealed for 25 years after his death in 1956, on his instructions. According to an item in the South Bay (California) Daily Breeze on December 5, 1989, titled "Mencken's Secret Diary Shows Racist Leanings," Mencken's views shocked even the "sympathetic scholar who edited it," Charles A. Fecher of Baltimore.
- There was a club in Baltimore called the Maryland Club which had one Jewish member, and that member died. Mencken said "There is no other Jew in Baltimore who seems suitable," according to the article.
- And the diary quoted him as saying of blacks, in 1943, "...it is impossible to talk anything resembling discretion or judgment to a colored woman..."
- The Diary of H. L. Mencken was published by Alfred A. Knopf.
If much of what he had written had been handicappist & racist, how does that affect the relevance to our era, nearly a century later?

Carlton_D'Metrius_Pearson universalism universal reconciliation Unitarian-Universalism agnosticism ignosticism
I fail to comprehend why this article seems to claim that this is so shockingly new. I, also, fail to comprehend why msnbc, & inumerable other networks seem to think that this is controversy. The networks & wiki should report it to say that millions of Christians are tricked to think that this had not occurred millions of times in the past several millennia. It has so much so that it is the early roots of Unitarian-Universalism, which has, now, evolved such that many Unitarian-Universalists have rejected both theism & atheism, as offensive. Those of us of that opinion would frequently declare ourselves as agnostic|ignostic.
Please do distinguish between heresy, hysteria, history, & heritage. Presenting hysteria as though it were history is, simply, not the best manner to present history. The concept heresy, is hysteria.

- In trying to make sense of it, I managed to track down the "extremely racist, extremely handicappist, policy page, about vandalism." - he objected to the inclusion of this image to illustrate the concept of "doppleganger" - He considered it racist because the subjects are black (though, no comment on whether he would think the same if a picture where the subjects were white had been used instead), and handicappist because either he considers being a twin to be a disability, or because of the (by no means obvious from the picture itself) fact that one of the subjects suffers from Aplastic anemia (though it seems the motivation was not in fact racism, but simply because it was an available picture of twins, the use of a picture of living people to illustrate it was certainly in bad taste) - he had some difficulty communicating this objection, leading to accusations of vandalism etc which understandably left him with negative feelings about the wikipedia community --Random832 14:01, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

- No, I don't think so. Would that those programs could produce grammatical sentences. If you read carefully, beyond all of the distractions, you'll see that Hopiakuta's use of language is nuanced, ironic and subtle - and always grammatical and on target. Nothing like the mess you get out of those programs. The problem is that the commentary that Hopiakuta includes are often whimsical and inappropriate, as they distract from the serious content of his comments. And the repeating of links and sig style are also distractions, and you have to work too hard to find his point. I have no idea about whether any disability is causing any of this - but if you work at it you find that his contributions are not incoherent. But we shouldn't have to work so hard. Perhaps a partnership with a willing editor who could translate the on-point edits made on a user sub page into recognizable format would work, but someone would have to volunteer to do that. Tvoz |talk 22:42, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
- You are probably right, I just thought I'd throw it out there. If it is a neurological disorder (which it would seem to be) I would guess it's a problem with the parts of the brain that control language and/or speech. I wish I had more time, because it would be a shame to let someone who seems to have good faith be driven out because of a problem communicating. As a writer I know it would kill me to have a bunch of good ideas floating around in my head but not be able to share them with other people. Hopiakuta, if you are reading this... If there is something we (I) can do to help you contribute, we'd love it if you would tell us, please. L'Aquatique 00:55, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

There are many comments above; I do find them so complex, that I feel the need to locate a better machine in order to scribe responses,....... such as @ a library. However, as you can see from this message, if I copy from imdb, foreign characters copy well, very well.
However, if I copy those very same characters from wiki, it does fail. I am forced to conclude that there is something malfunctioning w/ wiki's font-output, & how that output mistranslates to an old machine.
Now, there are many wiki-features that I do want imdb, as well as bank-account-services, other websites, to employ; however, here is one feature where imdb is far ahead.
Thank You,
] 18:15, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
First, I would like to explain what I think is the problem your machine has with foreign characters. There is a basic set, called "Latin 1" which only includes a few dozen, that many websites (IMDB, etc) use. Misplaced Pages uses the set called "Unicode", which contains many thousands of foreign characters, and any that are not also in "Latin 1" will be changed to question marks when an old web browser is used that does not support them.
What kind of computer do you have? It may be possible to get a web browser that will support Unicode and that won't crash on long pages without having to get a new computer, new operating system, or anything else. What kind of web browser are you using on your computer right now?
Second, I would like to explain that in the old page (which has now long since been deleted) that talked of "Doppelganger" was not referring to that movie, but using the word in a generic sense meaning a double, or one who looks the same as another. The picture that was used on that page was simply used because it was two people who, since they are twins, look the same. Nothing more than a poor attempt at humor, rather than being any sort of underlying triple racism as you assumed. --Random832 18:43, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
Each of you do have a tendency to assume facts not in evidence; you do obsess over justification, verification, et-al. I perceive little, or no, evidence of your doing so regarding your own selves.

The most crucial fact right now is that edit, that alteration, @:
As for a fact that is simply not a fact,....?:
"... I would like to explain that in the old page (which has now long since been deleted) that talked of 'Doppelganger' was not referring to that movie,..."
You really had thought that I had not seen that false premise prior to rejecting it?
Well, I do admit to being largely illiterate, compared to all of you brilliant computer programmers; but, occasionally I can even alliterate.
I'd been intrigued by that dopp-word since I'd been a small child,... science fiction, science fantasy.
Yes, it is true that that page is one of several reasons that I've been looking @ various spellings of the word; however, as I checked various Alemán versions, I saw the movie listed, above. I, then, went to imdb in order to figure the various questions listed, also above.
When I saw how those words did copy, to here, correctly, & they, as yet, have not corrupted, I'd suspected a route to crack your handicappism, racism. But, even the most brilliant sun does not penetrate all objects. I, truly, do want to learn about those words.
Just how many sexual harassment lawsuits, race riots, include a phrase akin to:
"Nothing more than a poor attempt at humor, rather than being any sort of underlying,..."??
Have you been attempting to diagnose me, as well, from a hundred miles away, sort of like the congressional Terri_Schiavo style??
"Don't Sit Under The Jena, Louisiana, Tree With Anyone Else But Me."
Again, the most crucial fact right now is that edit, that alteration, of that page; I, hereby, request a copy of that edit, not the entire page, just the edit. Please, do place it here.

"Which wikiklan member had said that that "...issue with that 'Long term abuse/The Doppleganger' page was dealt with long ago."?? Well, it was deleted, wasn't it? -- Anyway, regardless of anything else, the picture was chosen because they were twins, not because they were black or because of any disability, end of story. Would you have accused it of racism if a picture of a white pair of twins had been chosen instead? Would you have accused of "racism against able-bodied" people if there were no disability angle? hypocrite -- the particulars of the picture, other than that they were twins, was absolutely immaterial. The joke itself, bad as it was, was based only on the fact that they're twins, not anything else about them or about the picture. Why not have said "racism against people who wear yellow shirts", if "racism against multiple birth siblings" is a valid accusation? What if i were to accuse you of "Racism against people whose online screen names begin with an 'R'" for arguing with me, if you can say racism for just anything. There is no such thing as "racism against multiple birth siblings." End of story.--—Random832 16:13, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

In order to explain, would, likely veer too far into opinion, perception, f/ those pages.
Of all of the articles of these pages, of this website, particularly of those that link to other articles, @ least one of each is designed to imply opinion, in my opinion. Many go so far as to imply pure speculation. When perceiving anything, experiencing anything, including a written document, or a reference document, we must apply our individual judgement.
Beyond that, I had inserted these in the "good faith" that someone might actually want to know about each, close to each other in time. Well, that is what I want, how I perceive it; when I think of wanting more on either, it causes more interest of the other, certainly in context of other related issues, as well.

There was no "promise" - I said it may be possible, that is, if you were running windows (even if it were as old as windows 95) or linux you could download firefox, etc. At this time I did not know you are on an old mac. One reason that you often don't get follow-ups when you answer someone's questions is that you answer here on your page - many people won't check where they left the message, they expect that any responses go to their own page. OK, I think I see the confusion, at least in this specific case. You were talking about the KIRN radio station, and suggesting that there should be a link to it there, right? But in general we don't put links to every article with a similar title - even on a disambiguation page we only put links to things that people might have been looking for with what they typed in. For example, a Kirn (disambiguation) page could have a list with Kirn, Kirn, Argyll and Bute, KIRN, Kirn-Land, Walter Kirn, Roman Kirn, -- and Kirn would provide a link at the top to the disambiguation page, so if someone had typed "kirn" and what they're looking for is one of those, they can find it. Maybe KIRN could also link to the disambiguation page, but generally the other pages would not, since if someone types "walter kirn" or makes a link to it they are probably only looking for Walter Kirn, and not for KIRN. —Random832 13:55, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

David Hume andFreemasonry
You posted (on multiple article talk pages) a rather cryptic question that I think is trying to ask if David Hume was a Freemason. Having done a bit of research on this, it looks as if there have been several "David Hume"s who have joined that fraternity through the years... then again, it is a fairly common Scottish name, so that should not surprise us :>) If you mean to ask was the well known philosopher a Freemason? The answer is, probably not... at least it does not look as if he was. He is not listed on any of the various "famous freemasons" pages that are posted by various Grand Lodges (unlike many of his contemporaries). I suppose it is possible, but there certainly isn't any reliable evidence to support the supposition. I hope this answers you question. Blueboar (talk) 02:44, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

There is a solution to the problem that turns foreign characters to question marks when you edit, but it requires your "User Agent" string - this is a string that the server can see what browser you're using, and it needs to know which one to check it against (when this is done, it will send the foreign characters that won't work in a form like ř so that your browser can send it back without breaking anything) so, if you could e-mail or post here that string (you can find out on many sites around the internet, one is http://www.useragent.org) for the version of iCab you use, this could be fixed. —Random832 22:42, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
- What I meant was, it can be set up so that when there is a foreign character that won't work with your browser, it will send it as code instead, so that the code can be sent back by your browser unmodified instead of the character being turned into a question mark. But it has to know what the user agent string of the browser that doesn't work with the foreign characters is. —Random832 06:13, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
- I'm sorry if I was confusing in how I worded this. "that won't work in a form like ř" wasn't a single phrase in the sentence - it was meant as ...it will send them (i.e. the characters that won't work) in that form (a form like ř) . ř in particular is the code for the r in Antonin Dvorak/Antonín Dvořák/]. —Random832 14:36, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

Much more crucial is that machine's byte-limit, deleting, well, most of this very discussionpage, given the chance. As a matter of fact, now that I'm using a slightly more capable machine, I do know that I do need to move this thing elsewhere.
Anyhow, the byte-limit is what is really crucial on that machine. The most universal solution for all persons in that predicament would be optimal. Do you think that I would be the only one w/ difficult machines, incomplete computer-skill? Please do note that even the most modern machine can freeze, crash,.....
I, @ this moment, can think of two possible universal solutions which would reduce many of the issues regarding byte-limits, as well as cache-problems, crashes, freezes,....:
- a. "Warning: are you aware that one-hundred bytes, or more, are being deleted in this edit? If this edit is mistaken, then please go to the historylog & revert your changes, or send a message to someone capable of making corrections."
- b. Enable segmented sectional editing on all pages of more than two paragraphs, including those not written in sectional style. This must include the first, introductory, paragraph, as well as any other heading.
Please do note that old machines are built f/ old java, old image-function,..... Therefore these functions are frequently disconnected.
There are other potential versions of these ideas as well,....

A little secret for editing the introductory paragraph: To edit the first section before any heading, you can click to edit any other section, and then where it says "section=(number)" in the address bar, change the number to 0. A lot of people use javascript to do this for them, but you can just edit the address bar for that if javascript won't work. —Random832 06:18, 17 December 2007 (UTC);_<_http://useragent.org_>._encyclopædia"> ;_<_http://useragent.org_>._encyclopædia">

Archiving wæklypædia weaklypeadia
"Much more crucial is that machine's byte-limit, deleting, well, most of this very discussionpage, given the chance." -- If you would like, I can set it up so that an automated program will come in and periodically move old posts from this talk page to an archive for you, so that it doesn't get so long. —Random832 16:02, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
Well, yes, Thank You, yet, simultaneously, no thank you,.... as in, better to set it in such a way that I would learn how it operates, learn on which page is the template, turn-on, turn-off, various elements.
I say all of this knowing that many other wiki-aspects are designed such that putting an extra space in some control-line, command-line, turns the function off, & that the function template is often partially represented on a viewable page.
I think that you can, as well, see that I like to tinker-experiment, in order to see if I could convince a program to move to my preference.
Being that my birthday is roughly a weak aweigh, uh, a week away, is it feasible that this relationship would be less rough f/ this new year? If this website could truly get-on w/ disability-access, universal-design, then possibly my feelings like wæklypædia could go from facetious insult, to nostalgic sarcasm.
If wikipedia:administrators' noticeboard/User:hopiakuta could move to something similar to wikipedia:administrators' noticeboard/wikieditor:DonFphrnqTaub_Persina, then, conceivably, that could remind people that they're writing about either a person, or, even, a human-being, if I qualify, rather than, merely, a screenname. If you would paste your past few comments there, then, possibly, I might actually be able to read it. Well, it could contribute, anyhow.
Imagine a world in which every single human being can freely share in the sum of all knowledge.
Imagine a world in which every single person on the planet is given free access to the sum of all human knowledge.
In these quotes, there is no mention of when this website would actually do any of that; they do say "...single human being,...", "...single person on the planet,...", so, not married?
Is this the year that these platitudes would transfer from public-relations advertizing to actual implementation? Or, is it all to remain mirage?
] 23:45, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
I would likely set it per byte, rather than calendar; not bite a colander: a small calendar causes eyestrain, a retina becomes spaghetti.

- Well, happy early birthday, then. Do you know that there is a Wikiproject dedicated to making Misplaced Pages more accessible to all? It is called Wikiproject Accessibility. If you have suggestions on ways that we can improve Misplaced Pages, you can leave a note on the project talk page (the pages aren't too long, so you should be able to use it) or on my talk page if you so desire. There is a piece of software that automatically begins archiving your page when it reaches a certain size. If you'd like, you can tell me what size you want and I will add it here for you. All the best, --l'aqùatique 00:26, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

Well, if you would like to try to set up archiving yourself, there is some information at User:MiszaBot/Archive_HowTo. It unfortunately can't be set to keep your page a byte limit right now, but I'll ask the person who made it if that can be added as a feature. —Random832 15:49, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
I have posted bugzilla:12341 requesting a feature to warn you if your browser accidentally cuts off the end of the page. —Random832 15:53, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
Based on looking in the history log, it appears the byte limit that affects your browser is about 31KB. When a page is larger than this, you should already be able to see a warning that for example "This page is 66 kilobytes long." or whatever number - if it is more than 31 kilobytes you should go back and edit a section or propose your edit on the discussion page. For the foreign characters; I believe it is already set up to work around that when you are using Microsoft Explorer, but the user agent string is needed to set that up for iCab.—Random832 21:04, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
AfD nomination of Openserving
An editor has nominated Openserving, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Misplaced Pages's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Misplaced Pages is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Openserving and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 20:59, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
