About you denial of a request for creation on 2008-01-24

Yesterday, 2008-01-24, I added a request for creation of an article on a sofware title called MagicDisc. You have denied the request and referred me to the notability guidelines.

What I do not understand is the difference between this specific piece of software, which actually has been referred to in Misplaced Pages article http://en.wikipedia.org/List_of_ISO_image_software and does have an "empty" article, and similar competitors. As I had written in my request for creation, if an article on the Daemon-Tools Suite is "encyclopedic" so is an article on MagicDisc.

Moreover, my request article was in a rather unbiased tone similar to many other articles on software products already present on Misplaced Pages.

As for the notability bit, this piece of software is quite as "notable" as any other software with a purpose, e.g. Microsoft Windows, Winamp, the Bourne Again Shell, the C Shell, OpenBSD, IBM z/OS, Dilo web browser, Mozilla FireFox, PuTTY, the OpenSSH suite and others. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.147.204.123 (talk) 11:08, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

If you feel that i made an error (which i very well could have, I am only human) than re-submit your request and i will take another look, or let another editor look it over. Tiptoety 14:59, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

RfA thank-spam

Tiptoety, I wish to tender my sincere thanks for your support in my successful request for adminship, which ended with 37 supports, 2 opposes, and 2 neutral. The results of the RfA are extremely bittersweet because of the recent departure of my nominator, Rudget. Hopefully I can live up to his and your expectations. I would especially like to thank Epbr123 and TomStar81 for mentioning that they were preparing to offer me a nomination. The past week has been one of the most stressful weeks in my life, and I appreciate your vote of confidence in me. If you ever need anything, just get in touch. -MBK004 21:06, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

RE:User wikipedia/rollback

Wow, you caught that change quick, no later than 3 seconds and I "have new message". Thanks, I'm glad you like the new version, you should also be able to have a little icon on the top of your userpage like Admins do, if you want. Cheers! -- penubag  00:45, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

I just created a template that lets you do it, try adding {{rollback}} to your userpage. -- penubag  01:01, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
EDIT: The image is overlapping with the lock symbol, let me fix that -- penubag  01:03, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
You're welcome! =) -- penubag  01:06, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Smile!

Here's a baked potato for you! Baked potatoes somehow promote WikiLove and hopefully this one has made your day better. Spread the WikiLove by giving something friendly to someone else, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend. Make your own message to spread WikiLove to others! Happy editing! Acalamari 02:53, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

It was the first thing I could think of. :) Acalamari 02:57, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Good. :) Acalamari 03:01, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

AFC

Thanks for the star. I like to find useful bits amoungst the garbage. Sometimes there is a real gem! That's what makes WP:AFC work attractive. If you don't have enough to do, go back and look at some of that stuff from 2006. There is still a couple of months worth of contributions to sort through. Creating AFC stuff also makes you a magnet for speedy delete and copyvio warnings. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 03:22, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

RFA

Tiptoety, Thank you for your support in my RFA which passed 43/0/1. I would like to especially thank Bibliomaniac15 for being my nominator and admin coach. I would also like to thank Rudget for being my co-nominator. I'm sure that I can live up to the community's expectations as an administrator, and not totally mess everything up. Thanks again for your support! Malinaccier (talk) 17:22, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

My RFA

Thanks!
], thank you for showing your support in my RFA which passed with 38 support, 0 oppose, and 0 neutral! I also want to give special thanks to my Admin Coach and nominator, Useight for all of his help and support. I promise that I'll give my best effort as an admin, and I hope that your confidence in me proves to be justified. If I can ever be of any help, please let me know. In the mean time, I have some cleaning to do.

Have a great day! Jauerback/dude. 20:10, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

Comment

Someone complained that a user is blanking his own page. But this shows that he is receiving the warnings. This is good, not bad! Whoaslow (talk) 03:59, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Well, there is the controversy, some users think it is just a way for trolls to remove warnings from their page in hopes of disrupting wikipedias anti-vandal process and making it harder for newer vandal fighters to know if the user has been previously warned. While others agree with your point of view that if the user blanks, that means they have read them. Tiptoety 04:04, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

RE: Browse Bar

Done. Cheers, The Chronic 04:21, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Huh, guess i could have done that myself........lol, Thanks, Tiptoety 04:23, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
I fixed the colors on the clock, if that;s okay with you. The Chronic 04:29, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
Sure, everything matches now! Tiptoety 04:30, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

RfA thanks

Thank you for voting in my RfA, which was unsuccessful with 19 support, 18 oppose, and 5 neutral. I have signed up for admin coaching and will retry later on in a couple more months.

I'm sorry you felt I am inexperienced to become an admin. I hope that by performing more edits on Misplaced Pages in the next few months that I could possibly change your mind by my next RfA, possibly around May 2008. You have brought up several very good points, in which I wish to work on during admin coaching. Thank you for providing constructive feedback instead of a simple "Oppose" or that one "Strong Oppose" vote for unknown reasons. - Jameson L. Tai 05:08, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Sure, glad to help, and like i said, improve and come back and prove us (the opposer's) all wrong, I think with some admin coaching you will surely pass your next RfA. I will keep my eye out for it! Cheers, Tiptoety 05:13, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Snowy COTW from WPOR

Hello again from WP:ORE. Please note the Collaboration of the Week is running two hours late, no morning kindergarten, and routers are on snow routes. Thank you to those who helped improve Oregon, we are inching towards GA quality. This week we have another High importance Stub in our official state insect (who knew?) with the Oregon Swallowtail, and then a new article I came across, Biglow Canyon Wind Farm. Help if you can get out of the snow. Once again, to opt out or suggest future collaborative efforts, click here. Good day! Aboutmovies (talk) 16:08, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

RE: Snow Day (Sorta)

Wait... what? The Chronic 16:14, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Portland Public Schools are two hours late because of the "snow".... Tiptoety 16:15, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
Okay... just verified it with FOX 12. :) The sixth/seventh snowfall in Portland in only two months. The Chronic 16:22, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

RfA Thanks

Tiptoety, thanks for your support, it was quite a drama in the end. I'm not going to spam round pretty pictures, it's not my style, but I'm sure you'll be quite ready to go for it yourself soon. Your contributions to WP:ANI are helpful, and as long as you keep the balance with the mainspace edits, I don't see any problems. Cheers! --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 17:04, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

CSD attack page is gone. Thanks for your help. --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 02:58, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

Just FYI: Lay of the One Fishball

The user created the article using a speedy delete tag. The article had been removed earlier, which is why I tagged the article as vandalism. Mh29255 (talk) 03:38, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

Actually the user created the article using {{hangon}}, which meets A3 criteria. No big deal though, either way it needs to be deleted. Tiptoety 03:41, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
Please refer to the deletion log to see the reason for the deletion. Tiptoety 03:55, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

AfC

Hi Tiptoety! I noticed that when you review articles at AfC, you seem to be using a different template to others. At the top it might have {{#switch:|accept={{afc a}}|mm={{afc mm}}|#default={{afc r}}}}. What's the score here? I've recently started helping at this page. I find it's a great way to force you to read all the policies! Best regards, MSGJ (talk) 23:18, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

Sure, it depends on if i am using the script (which can be found here) or not. If i am using Firefox or IE then i use the script and it auto closes the submission for me. But when i am not using the script i close it myself, and the form in which i do that changes (it depends on which template i can remember off the top of my head). I would recommend using the script as it does it for you nice and easy. If you have any more questions, or if i just confused you even more let me know and i will do my best to help. Cheers! Speedy deletion of Wake Forest Demon Deacons football, 1940-1949

I see nothing wrong with this page as it is. I styled this page, as all Wake Forest history pages off of the Florida Gators historical pages. What is wrong with it?Rebajc3 (talk) 17:38, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

Admin coaching

I just corrected your request as it seemed to be incorrect. I only noticed because I was thinking about adding my name too! MSGJ (talk) 21:06, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

Ooops, Thanks! Tiptoety 23:31, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
