Blaise Isetsima Nkufo (born 25 May 1975 in Kinshasa) is a Swiss football player of Congolese (DRC) origin. He currently plays as a striker for FC Twente in the Netherlands. He stated to have found peace and rest at Twente after a nomadic existence career. In 2006 he signed a new contract that keeps him at the club until 2009.
In March 2007 he was asked in an interview for the biggest Dutch football magazine (VI) why Ricardo Cabanas, who only scored one goal in the 2. Bundesliga this season, and Hakan Yakın with seven goals for the Swiss side Young Boys are selected for the national team while he is not. "My average is 15 goals a season for four years long in the Eredivisie. With my Swiss nationality I advertise the country in a positive way. So there has to be another explanation. I can look myself in the mirror without my conscious calling, this doesn't count for Köbi Kuhn and his assistant."
Trivia
