It is broadcast from Hong Kong. Presenters include Christine Tan and Mark Laudi. CNBC Asia provides some opt-out services including CNBC Singapore, CNBC Hong Kong, and CNBC Australia. It also operates CNBC-TV18 (formerly CNBC India), Nikkei-CNBC (in Japan), and MBN-CNBC (Korea).
Major programmes include "CNBC Asia Squawk Box", "Asia Marketwatch", "Asia Market Wrap", and "CNBC Tonight". CNBC and CNBC Europe programmes are also broadcast on the channel.
In July 2005, it was announced that NBC Universal would take full control of CNBC Asia from 31 December 2005, subject to clearance.
