License tagging for Image:Bnai israel old.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Bnai israel old.jpg. Misplaced Pages gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Misplaced Pages, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Misplaced Pages:Media copyright questions. 04:05, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

- You should be unblocked now. It was just unfortunate collateral because you are on a dynamic IP address, which had been used by a vandal previously. But it looks like the autoblock was removed before I got here. Tell me if you still can't edit. Dmcdevit·t 09:16, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
Commercial use of Image:Eiland.gif
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Eiland.gif, by another Misplaced Pages user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Eiland.gif is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only" or "used with permission for use on Misplaced Pages only" which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3).
If you created this media file and want to use it on Misplaced Pages, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.
If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Misplaced Pages, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.
This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:Eiland.gif itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Misplaced Pages:Media copyright questions. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 08:03, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
Moody National Bank
Please do not add inappropriate external links to Misplaced Pages. Misplaced Pages is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Misplaced Pages. Thank you.
I don't see how the Moody Gardens or the insurance link were relevant to the article. Kevin 06:53, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
--
I feel they are relevant because the Bank controls the insurance company and the foundation which funds Moody Gardens. Not to mention the president of the bank is also the president of the insurance company and chairman of the foundation and founder of Moody Gardens. Nsaum75 07:00, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
Non-free use disputed for Image:Moodybank.jpg
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Moodybank.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Misplaced Pages:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Misplaced Pages:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Misplaced Pages policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:41, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
Jewish Texan history
Hello Nsaum75. I have been trying to add articles to wikipedia concerning the various Texas jewish communities. I have noticed that you also have contributed to such articles. I need your advice. I have recently added an article, concerning a Bryan-College Station kehilla. It is Temple Freda. This article has been nominated for deletion. My question for you is, do you think this article has overstepped the bounds of notability? Thank you for your time and consideration. Bhaktivinode 00:40, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
I moved this discussion to its talk page after adding more references. Take care. Bhaktivinode 01:34, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
FYI - Now its Rabbi Jimmy Kessler. First it was given a "Speedy Delete" tag, though that was removed by another editor. Now it has a tag for sources. I disagree with both. Bhaktivinode 21:53, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
I really appreciate the hard work you've done in your contributions to, and creation of Jewish Texan articles. Thank you. Bhaktivinode 03:54, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
Nominations of Texas Jews articles for deletion
Hi : Your input would be greatly appreciated at the discussion Misplaced Pages talk:WikiProject Judaism#Nominations of Texas Jews articles for deletion. Thanks a lot, IZAK 21:25, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
Hello
Hello Nsaum, I am now working on an article American Jewish Congress v. Bost. Two questions - what do you think of this entry (do you have any ideas on its expansion) and what are your thought on any future articles, any ideas??? Thanks. Take care. Bhaktivinode 01:26, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
Lemme take a look at it and I'll let ya know... Thanks for all your help with the Texas Jewish articles...I'm sure there's gotta be some sort of mitzvah for editing wikipedia articles :-) Nsaum75 02:36, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
I'm trying to find the westlaw case citation on it....it would be good to quote it, or at least list it for reference, in the article.....Will let you know when I find something Nsaum75 22:58, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
History of the Jews in Brenham, Texas
Sorry to keep asking for advice, but in the article History of the Jews in Brenham, Texas a recent editor keeps posting notices about the intro, which I see as efficient. Do you have any advice? Thanks. Bhaktivinode (talk) 02:30, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
Not a problem, feel free to ask questions anytime. I'm more than glad to help where I can. I agree your intro is efficient, but after a casual glance at other "History of Jews in..." articles, maybe something along the lines of the following would be acceptable??
"The History of the Jews in Brenham, Texas covers a period of over 150 years. As one of the first areas in Texas, outside of major population centers, to develop a sizeable Jewish population, the community boast many things of historical note."
Obviously it needs to be tweaked a bit, but maybe its a starting point? Nsaum75 (talk) 02:57, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
Thanks a bunch. I will also take a look at redoing the intro for the other "History of Jews in..." Thanks again and take care. Bhaktivinode (talk) 13:33, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
Notability of Galveston County Library System
A tag has been placed on Galveston County Library System requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Misplaced Pages guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Truthanado (talk) 23:28, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
THANK YOU
Thanks for reverting the USAA alleged vandalism. The situation is nutty. I get tired of fighting it and appreciate the help. Hillcountrygrump (talk) 15:52, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
Your Email
Hi Nsaum: I received your Email and at this point I would suggest you track and contribute to the serious discussion at Misplaced Pages talk:WikiProject Judaism#Deletion of synagogue articles about this matter where a number of experienced Judaic editors are debating the situation. Thanks for your concern. IZAK (talk) 04:35, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
Sources and notability added
Hi Nsaum75: Shavua Tov: I have spent some time improving the two articles currently up for deletion. The Adas Israel Congregation and Adath Jeshurun Congregation articles, now renamed Adas Israel Congregation (Duluth) and Adath Jeshurun Congregation (Minnetonka) to differentiate them from other similar sounding congregations elsewhere, are now a full articles. They meet all criteria for such articles. I also wish to point out that this is proof of what can and should be done to improve stubs. Merely because someone has started a stub does not mean that the article of a place/person/event are "not notable" since not all people have the time and capability of working to improve such articles. There is no statute of limitations on how long a stub deemed to be significant can exist and it is certainly no reason to invoke reasons to eliminate them, otherwise why do we have stubs in the first place? It is requested that the nominations be withdrawn! Please look into this. Sincerely, IZAK (talk) 11:10, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
Follow-up with creator of Minnesota synagogues stubs
Hi Nsaum75: You may be interested to know that I have contacted User Grika (talk · contribs) who was the editor who originally created all the stub articles about synagogues in Minnesota that have now become the focal point of much debate, and he, as creator of the stubs has neither responded, participated nor defended himself in any discussions AFAIK. Please see User talk:Grika#Requesting your attention. Feel free to add your comments. Thanks, IZAK (talk) 09:44, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the heads up IZAK. They haven't edited anything since 05/02/08, and seem sorta sporatic in their edit history -- maybe contacting them via E-mail would illicit a faster response? Nsaum75 (talk) 09:56, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
Re: Galveston
Uh, unfortunately, no. I've lived in Indiana for one year (in Bloomington), but I haven't heard of either place name. And even though I'm pretty comfortable with my English ability, I'm not a native speaker: I just try to guess the pronunciation. And as for my pseudonym, I chose it merely because it sounds cool - now I'll have to decide which one sounds cooler, though. :) Keith Galveston (talk) 04:18, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
