Revision as of 16:16, 29 July 2005 by Bgrayless (talk | contribs)(diff) ← Previous revision | Latest revision (diff) | Newer revision → (diff)RC helicopters, although often grouped with RC airplanes, are in a class of their own because of their vast differences in construction, aerodynamics and flight training. They take alot of skill to fly, although some beginner craft are easier but have limited maneuverability. You have to control throttle, pitch, roll, yaw, vertical speed, sideways speed, forward and backward speed, and the pitch of the rotor blades.
One of the most demanding forms of helicopter flying is called 3d. During 3d flying, helicopters perform advanced aerobatics in a free flowing freestyle form. There are a number of 3d competitions around the world, two of the best known are 3d Masters in the uk and the eXtreme Flight Championship xfc in the USA.
