Marie Marthe Augustine (Mesange) Lemaitre Brémont was born in Noellet, France on April 25th, 1886, and died on June 6th, 2001 at 2:15 AM, in Cande, France, about 240 kilometres west of Paris. She held the record, at the time of her death, as being the world's oldest person. She gained the record after the death of Eva Morris.
