Mud comprised of vocalist Les Gray, who died of throat cancer on 21 February, 2004, drummer Dave Mount, bass guitarist Ray Stiles and lead guitarist Rob Davis. They first appeared on the Basil Brush show on British TV and toured as support for Jack Jones. The band split in 1977.
