Again at Level 3 for the second time. I have had to accuse a user of sockpuppets, which I feel terrible but pretty confident of. And the nearly oblivious lack of recognition I have received, by trying to be half way decent with others on this site There are too many people so confident in their intellectual "skill" that they easily bombard the potential of other users. I hate to complain this much, but Misplaced Pages is not what it is cut out for. Note that all my WikiStress is pinning from one argument. D. J. Bracey (talk) 05:19, 6 August 2005 (UTC)

Joder

There is already an article on chingar I see no reason why this article can not stand on its own, as it has independent information. D. J. Bracey (talk) 14:40, 2 August 2005 (UTC)

There is an article on chingada I agree. However, I missed the extra information that the entry for Joder included -- it seemed to me just to be an acknowledgement that the word existed. It also crosses my mind that Misplaced Pages is not a dictionary? 195.194.4.65 14:45, 2 August 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the note. Well, it does include some new info. You could ask a third party what they think of the article or post a deletion tag if you'd like, I won't get in your way. But I still think the article is half way relevant.

BTW, I have seen your contributions and I think you should register a user name, because you seem to be a pretty good editor. Take care, D. J. Bracey (talk) 14:49, 2 August 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the encouraging comment. I'll leave my thoughts on the Joder entry on its discussion page; I'm certainly not going redirect again. Cheers, 195.194.4.65 14:51, 2 August 2005 (UTC)

Note, I added a delete tag, and places where people could put there thoughts. I looking forward to hear from you in the future. Adios, D. J. Bracey (talk) 14:59, 2 August 2005 (UTC)

ARE YOU MAD?

Hope you aren't mad or anything, because you didn't respond to my message. Like I said, I'll still vote to close the arbitration when the time comes, because I think you are an excellent Wikipedian. Dbraceyrules 03:05, 2 August 2005 (UTC)

Okay, it's pretty obvious that you are sort of pissed off. Sorry about that, take care, D. J. Bracey (talk) 03:58, 2 August 2005 (UTC)
No, I am not angry at you. Actually, I really appreciate your kindness, patience and tolerance. I was just very busy and overlooked responding to you. What I am dissapointed in is some other users who seem to be more interested in "policing" my contributions instead of doing their own contribution. They waste about 1/2 of my time at Misplaced Pages with their personal remarks and off-topic arguments and their constant reverting of my attributed contributions. Otherwise I am doing well. I hope you are also doing well. Aloha! :) --AI 18:23, 2 August 2005 (UTC)

Problems with Misplaced Pages

Dear Mr. Bracey,

Here is a message I sent to Beroul which demonstrates my disappointment with Misplaced Pages:

Beroul, I do not think it is fair at all that the article on the Muslim Brotherhood can exclude any criticism, yet any articles related to my religion (Scientology) is loaded with non-academic criticism, opinions and disinformation. Please help to rewrite those articles or at least tell the POV contributors there to follow the same standard as you have set in the Muslim Brotherhood articles. Peace. --AI 20:02, 2 August 2005 (UTC)

I still have yet to find out if Beroul will provide any assistance. In my 3 months of experience with Misplaced Pages, I have not gotten any support at all regarding this, only opposition, unwarranted personal criticism, personal attacks/comments and ad hominem. Also note the Misplaced Pages Scientology project is composed mainly of individuals who's POV is anti-scientology. I believe David Gerard is the project leader who is a known to be anti-scientology in the past. --AI 20:13, 2 August 2005 (UTC)

You don't have to call me "Mr. Bracey." I understand how it feels to be a newcomer to an extremely blunt and rude Misplaced Pages world. Fact is, most of the other Wikipedians can be pretty contankerous when you're trying to work with articles, etc. However, you can only push negativity aside and not let it interfere with your work. D. J. Bracey (talk) 20:18, 2 August 2005 (UTC)
Thanks again. My intention is not to burden you with involvement in these problems, but only to give you an understanding of why it seems I am "mad." --AI 20:36, 2 August 2005 (UTC)

Thanks!

Thanks for the warm welcome to Misplaced Pages. Yeah I was editing the GNAA article... only on wikipedia could something like that exist. That's what makes it so great!

Adminship

Hey (waving) :). Thanks for your very kind offer, but I'm not really interested in becoming an administrator. Over the last few months, you're the third person who's approached me about it -- and I, frankly, don't see the benefit. I sometimes lose my patience and get nasty with people, and I freely speak my mind. Since administrators, I believe, should endeavor to be tolerant and patient, I think I'd be a poor candidate for the position. I have no patience for a lot of the nonsense on this website -- and I don't think I should! And I'm not terribly crazy about cops, so being a Wikicop doesn't particularly appeal to me, either. Whacking someone across the knuckles for this or that infraction just doesn't do it for me. I'd rather remain a lowly, relatively anonymous editor -- one of the great unwashed. :p But, again, thanks, anyway. Peace 2 u. deeceevoice 21:41, 2 August 2005 (UTC)

Vote to close re: Dreamguy

Sorry I forgot to respond to this message from you. The vote for closure will also get my vote as I have no intention of holding a grudge against any Misplaced Pages user. --AI 22:05, 2 August 2005 (UTC)

That's good to hear. D. J. Bracey (talk) 16:03, 3 August 2005 (UTC)

Acknowledged. (No response necessary) Aloha --AI 18:47, 3 August 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the WWW (Warm Misplaced Pages Welcome)!!!

Thanks for the welcome. Actually I have been an anonymous/non-logged-in contributor to the Misplaced Pages for a number of years, but I finally decided to become a full-fledged Wikipedian at last.

You will be hearing a lot from me in the next few months, esp. I go around and clean up some articles within my field of expertise (Africa -- I've been in Cameroun & Nigeria for nearly a decade now).

Thanks again! Jalabi99 15:28, 3 August 2005 (UTC)

Glad to see you here as well. D. J. Bracey (talk) 16:03, 3 August 2005 (UTC)

Barnstar

Aww... thank you so much. It's purdy. :o Ryan 00:40, August 4, 2005 (UTC)

Adminship

Dbraceyrules, thank you very much. :) Actually, several people have recently asked me about adminship, (or stated they were going to ask). I appreciate your making the offer. :) Functc ) 01:02, 4 August 2005 (UTC)

Universal truths

I realize you encoutered the painful darker side of wikipedia early on here, but please enter this attack on me as an example of the universal brutality of wikipolitics, and common suffering. It's imporatant to remember your not alone, even for experienced wikipedians. -JCarriker 05:22, August 4, 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the message. I have to say I totally agree with you on what you say about this site. I hate to sound pessimistic, but I think Misplaced Pages is a real waste of my time. I take more crap here for free than I would on a paying job. I have tried beyond doubt to be civil to these people, and have went around doing things like leaving barnstars around, kind comments, and even welcoming users, but have received very little recognition for it. I truly thank you and that IP user, as you two seem to be the only ones here kind enough to show gratitude. Only about 3 people even said a simple "hi" to me when I welcomed them on this miserable site. Personally, I start college on 29 August, and I will be working as well. Misplaced Pages won't see much of me then. I'll try to edit a little, but not nearly as much as I have these past two weeks, my goal is 2,000; I already have 1,600+, and 400 edits will probably pass quickly. I have been generally disappointed by the entire WikiCommunity to be completely honest. Sorry for the complaints, but it just has to be said. D. J. Bracey (talk) 20:14, 4 August 2005 (UTC)
P.S. to outside users, the only reason I stayed this long was to have some more stuff on my college resumé. Editing for the largest encyclopedia in history won't look so bad.D. J. Bracey (talk) 20:17, 4 August 2005 (UTC)

Cool!

Can you show me how to change fonts? --Wack'd About Wiki 23:16, 4 August 2005 (UTC)

PS: How do you measure my WikiStress? I've felt kind of stressed lately, but not that I've expressed on Misplaced Pages...and I've never even met you...ARE YOU SPYING ON ME?!...sorry, that was a mix of stress and what I like to call a paraniod attack...that's the second one I've had in eleven years. Sorry.

THAT? My friend was showing me how to add a picture, and used the WikiStress picture as an example! Plus, that was from a long time ago!

What, there is a problem? D. J. Bracey (talk) 23:49, 4 August 2005 (UTC)

Wikistress

Nope, not stressed out. Thanks for the barnstar, though. You're the second person to give me an award for that wikimeter... Hmm... maybe I'm onto something... --Jeffrey O. Gustafson - Shazaam! - <*> 23:54, 4 August 2005 (UTC)

User page

Hey DB, thank you so much for the kind words about my page, which is a real compliment coming from you, as yours looks so good. I'm not very familiar with how to do these things, so I had to fiddle around a lot to make it work, and there's probably more fiddling to come. Thank you. ;-D SlimVirgin 07:44, August 5, 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the nice comments. D. J. Bracey (talk) 16:02, 5 August 2005 (UTC)

Sockpuppetry

Would you mind posting what you found at Misplaced Pages talk:Requests for comment/Gabrielsimon#Sockpuppet?? Friday 18:45, 5 August 2005 (UTC)

a Very hoopy response

no no, its like being cool. in the hitchhikers guide its like " look at that frood, how hoopy ishe, carrying around his twoel like that" (frood = dude, etc)

i forgive as surely as the tides come back, no worries man. Gabrielsimon 04:58, 6 August 2005 (UTC)

Thanks!

Thanks for the barnstar :) That made my wikistress go down a little. But, the new message indicator scared me, I thought it was going to be someone complaining at me for blanking an image. I blanked it because I accidently unblanked it. heh. --Phroziac (talk) 01:24, 7 August 2005 (UTC)
