† = The United States Dollar (USD) is also legal tender and/or used.
‡ = The Cook Islands also have local $5, $2, 50¢, 20¢, 10¢, and 5¢ coins that are not negotiable elsewhere.
♥ = The Cuban Peso (CUP) is also legal tender.
♠ = The Romanian Leu (ROL) is also legal tender.
♣ = The Jordanian Dinar (JOD) is also used.
♦ = The Turkish Lira (TRL) is also legal tender.
¤ = The Australian dollar (AUD) is also legal tender.
§ = England and Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland each have their own banknotes that are only legal tender inside the area were they were issued, but are often excepted throughout the country. The only exception are Northern Irish banknotes which are legal tender in Scotland.
