Realtime Worlds Ltd is a Scottish BAFTA-Award winning computer game developer based in Dundee, Scotland. It was founded in early 2002 by David Jones, formerly of DMA Design. It was an offshoot of Rage Dundee, which closed its doors earlier that year. Jones' hit franchises include Grand Theft Auto (GTA) and Lemmings. Realtime Worlds is currently the largest independent game developer in Scotland with 185 employees and 40 in Seoul and colorado. Realtime Worlds also has offices in Boulder, Colorado and Seoul, South Korea.

In 2007 at the Develop Industry Excellence Awards the company was nominated in a record-breaking seven categories, and took home the awards for Innovation and New UK/European Studio. RTW Chairman Ian Hetherington was also crowned Development Legend. Realtime Worlds was nominated five times and won two awards at this year's BAFTA ceremony for 'Action and Adventure' and 'Use of Audio' at the gaming industry BAFTAs in London on Tuesday 23rd October, making it the most successful European studio at the ceremony all for its critically-acclaimed title Crackdown.
