Tyga |
---|
Michael Stevenson (born November 20, 1989), better known by his stage name Tyga, is a hip hop artist signed in 2008 by Young Money Entertainment and Decaydance. Tyga is also the cousin of Travis McCoy, lead vocalist of the Gym Class Heroes. Tyga is a native of Gardena, California. His first single is "Coconut Juice." He achieved his first recognition opening for Fall Out Boy and Gym Class Heroes during the Young Wild Things Tour in late 2007.
At age 18 Tyga has been coronated the next rap legend! He is not all street hype, unlike every other cookie cutter, watered down artist. His effortless flow and presumptuous swagger is evident through his music. Starting when he was 9 years old he knew this is what he wanted to do. He would go around the house rhyming until he fell asleep. Tyga has the ability to compose radio friendly hits as well as thought provoking music without compromising his artistic integrity. Every region has one person or group that people identify it with. For example, in the South a group like Outkast gave Atlanta an identity. This led the way for Ludacris, Young Jeezy and T.I.s accomplishments. The same can be said for the West as N.W.A. paved the way for artists such as Snoop Dogg and The Game to achieve multi-platinum success.
His first mixtape 'No Introduction' was released online in April.
