The Artful Dodger are a British band, who became famous through their 2Step hits and gave Craig David's career a boost after he appeared on the number 2 hit Rewind in December 1999. The band's name was taken from the Artful Dodger, a character in the Charles Dickens novel Oliver Twist. They originally consisted of Mark Hill and Pete Devereux, but Devereux left prior to the Twenty Four Seven single release and Hill continued from then on to produce records under the Artful Dodger moniker by himself.

All of their subsequent hit singles have also been collaborations: Movin' too Fast featuring Romina Johnson (number 2 in March 2000), Woman Trouble featuring Robbie Craig and Craig David (number 6 in July 2000), Please Don't Turn Me On featuring Lindon Clifford (number 4 in November 2000), Think About Me featuring Michelle Escoffery (number 11 in March 2001), and Twenty Four Seven featuring former All Saints member Melanie Blatt (number 11 in September 2001).

The Artful Dodger are associated with Pete Tong's FFRR Records label.

There is also a punk band named The Artful Dodger.
