Career
International Association of Scientologists
In 2002, John Carmichael was recognized for his efforts to aid with the tragedy of 9/11 by being named as a recipient of the IAS Freedom Valor medal the highest award a Scientologist can receive in their lives. John was single-handedly responsible for directing public relations during the tragedies of 9/11 and for ensuring that police, fireman and all other aid workers received the spiritual, mental and physical help and support they required to do their horrendously grim task.
Controversy
On May 27th 2008, John Carmichael was videotaped by a group of young persons from the Internet activist group Anonymous demonstrating against the Church of Scientology NY on 42nd Street and Broadway. During the confrontation, John Carmichael was recorded on video uttering a number of obscenities at the demonstrators and caught further on video stalking the persons after the demonstration had concluded.
