The inaugural Twenty20 Champions League will run in late-September 2008. It is an international competition that will feature 8 domestic Twenty20 teams; the top two from India'a Indian Premier League, Australia's KFC Twenty20 Big Bash, South Africa's Standard Bank Pro 20 Series and England's Twenty20 Cup.


Teams

So far the entries are as follows;

  • Rajasthan Royals (India)
  • Chennai Super Kings (India)
  • Western Warriors (Australia)
  • Victorian Bushrangers (Australia)
  • Dolphins (South Africa)
  • Titans (South Africa)
  • English County Finalist
  • English County Runnerup

Note: As some players may play in two or more domestic Twenty20 competitions throughout the world, it's been decided that players must play for their local sides. ]

Hosts

As of June 7, 2008, both India and the Middle East are being discussed as possible hosts. ]

Format

It has been confirmed the event will feature 15 matches over 10 days.

Prize Money

  • US$5 Million

It's currently unknown how the prize money will be split
