Murray Bishoff was a highly regarded columnist for the Comics Buyer's Guide and representative for Dynapubs. As of 2008 he is managing editor of The Monett Times.
He is the winner of an 1980 Inkpot Award.
Murray Bishoff is also known for discovering damning evidence that in Pierce City, where white residents went on a fifteen hour lynchings and banishment with stolen militia weapons stolen from a state militia arsenal, some townspeople wanted to follow the lead of nearby Monett.
Bishoff first published a series of articles in the Monett Times in 1991, the 90th anniversary of the rampage. He created a exhibit which is now housed at the Pierce City Museum and wrote a novel on the subject titled Cries of Thunder.
A documentary, Banished: How Whites Drove Blacks Out of Town in America, has been released, directly based on Bishoff's groundbreaking discovery.
