Image Copyright problem

Hi Ronjohn!
We thank you for uploading Image:Amd coperman.jpg, but there is a problem. Your image is currently missing information on its copyright status. Misplaced Pages takes copyright very seriously. Unless you can help by adding a copyright tag, it may be deleted by an Administrator. If you know this information, then we urge you to add a copyright tag to the image description page. We apologize for this, but all images must confirm to policy on Misplaced Pages.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks so much for your cooperation.

Speedy deletion of Media takeout

A tag has been placed on Media takeout requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Bfigura 21:29, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

Mediat Takeout is a gossip site that is cited on many urban radio stations through the U.S. Media takeout has provided info before many other news outlets on "urban news".

Speedy deletion of Media Take Out

A tag has been placed on Media Take Out, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Misplaced Pages:Business' FAQ for more information.

Speedy deletion templates

Welcome to Misplaced Pages. Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from pages that you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, then please place {{hangon}} on the page (please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag) and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you.

Image copyright problem with Image:Ccb logo.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Ccb logo.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Misplaced Pages's policy on images. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Ccb logo.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:Ccb logo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Misplaced Pages under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Misplaced Pages. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Misplaced Pages (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:11, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:18judge.190.jpg

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:18judge.190.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Misplaced Pages articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? 160.83.72.211 (talk) 21:29, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:JayneKennedy2.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:JayneKennedy2.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Misplaced Pages's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Misplaced Pages:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 06:24, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

WifiTastic

The article WifiTastic has been speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This was done because the article seemed to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Misplaced Pages. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki (talk) 18:33, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

  • Your article included promotional language like "all you have to worry about is...", "all inclusive solution", and "The company is dedicated to providing easy, affordable, and secure commercial hotspots." FON, by contrast, is written from a neutral point of view. Also, FON is supported by about 16 independent sources. Yours had none. See the guidelines I (repeatedly) cited to you, above. You should read them. NawlinWiki (talk) 19:14, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Why not just help me rather then deletee this company that promotes the use of GDL software like Openwrt?

      • It's unprotected for now. But if you repost the article to mainspace again without curing the problems that you have been repeatedly told about, the article will be deleted and protected again, and you will be blocked from editing. I *strongly* suggest you work on the article in your userspace first. NawlinWiki (talk) 20:27, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
        • Deleted and protected again. You fixed the spam problem, but you still cited no sources to show that this company is notable. Until you have them (see WP:V and WP:CORP, work on the article in your userspace. NawlinWiki (talk) 21:03, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
          • I've told you over and over again how to make the article acceptable, and you haven't listened. One last time: if you can edit the article in your userspace so that it meets our minimum standards for notability and verifiability, then let me know and I'll consider unprotecting. But the main article space isn't a place for you to post inadequate articles in the hope that they will somehow be improved. NawlinWiki (talk) 21:30, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Wifitastic

A tag has been placed on Wifitastic, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done for the following reason:

Notability is only asserted by a press release and company's own website, no reliable sources so fails WP:WEB.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Misplaced Pages criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Exxolon (talk) 23:12, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

  • Sorry -- I know you've been working hard on this. But your sources for the last version were the company's own website (not independent), its press release (not independent), and a blog (not reliable). To give you an idea of what sorts of sources are reliable and independent, see WP:V and WP:RS. NawlinWiki (talk) 23:16, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
    • Once again, you don't have any sources of the types discussed in WP:V and WP:RS. You've added a one-line mention on some computer company's website to the press release and WifiTastic site that you had before. Has Wifitastic ever been covered by a newspaper or magazine, or a major tech site such as Cnet? If not, it's probably too early for it to have an article. NawlinWiki (talk) 11:00, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

"Notable" lists

Hey RJ, I noticed you recently moved List of Haitian Americans to List of Notable Haitian Americans. I wanted to point you to WP:MOSLIST, which says that "notable" is discouraged in the titles of lists, since it is assumed in the list contents. Accordingly, I requested that the move be reversed.
