The Sun Belt of the United States includes the southern and southwestern states. There has been a significant demographic and economic shift to the Sun Belt in recent decades. Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Nevada, New Mexico, and Texas, are particularly significant Sun Belt states, although California has lost many of its former residents to other states in this region, i.e. neighboring Nevada.
