It is part of the Roman Catholic parish of Dromcollogher-Broadford.
Historical facts
It has a population of about 1075, and is located 2 km from Springfield Castle, historically the local seat of power. In 1955 a colony of lepers settled in broadford which now makes up the community today
Broadford has the highest rate of dole recievers in Ireland, Once a month nearly 1,000 people que at the local post office.
Broadford also has the highest obesity rate in munster, the local chipper "the snack box" refuses to except responsibility.
