Revision as of 21:29, 27 July 2008 by Pawnkingthree (talk | contribs) (→Thanks)(diff) ← Previous revision | Latest revision (diff) | Newer revision → (diff)Kaoru Kobayashi (murderer)
The article Kaoru Kobayashi (murderer) has been speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Misplaced Pages. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.
Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.
In addition, one specific problem with this article was the complete lack of citation to sources. This meant that even if this was a notable crime in Japan, our policy on the biography of living persons means that the article must be deleted unless and until reliable sources are cited. --MCB 07:59, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
Notability of Kazuko Fukuda
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Kazuko Fukuda, by Yuckfoo, another Misplaced Pages user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Kazuko Fukuda seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Kazuko Fukuda, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Kazuko Fukuda itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 03:06, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi! I'm giving you this trophy for all your efforts on improving the yokozuna articles. Keep up the great work! Pawnkingthree 18:37, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

You already have the sumo trophy, but you deserve another one. Your efforts on the yokozuna through history have given a depth to the sumo articles on wikipedia that there never was before. Yokozuna promotion
On Koji Kitao, I don't think there's an official 2-consecutive yusho requirement anyway. The YDC has some latitude in selecting candidates -- within limits, of course. They have enforced this as a de facto requirement, but in principle they can still recommend a candidate with an "equivalent performance". The great reluctance to do so probably results from the Futahaguro situation, but it's still not a hard-and-fast rule.
English-language sources exist for this, of course, but for myself I don't have a problem with Japanese sources per se. But caution is required, since the reliability of a source can be difficult to evaluate. There's a lot of misinformation out there. (And as I said, referencing an unreferenced ja:Misplaced Pages article isn't something we should do.) TCC (talk) (contribs) 00:09, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
- You are right. To begin with I have seen for sure many false data in ja:Misplaced Pages; secondly the Yokozuna Deliberation Council surely admits an "equivalent performance" still now (though it has not been applied since his retirement). Anyway I overshot myself.--ACSE 00:52, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

I've re-inserted some of the tags which you removed. The reference tag is crucial - if there aren't any reliable, third-party sources, then Misplaced Pages should not have an article on it, and I will most likely refer the article to Articles for Deletion. The article as it stands also is not written from a neutral point of view, and I would myself copyedit the article, but I don't feel that I could do so as I now have a conflict of interest. - I thought that this article includes copyright violation, though I can't speak English well so I don't nominate the article.--ACSE (talk) 11:41, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
- I added copyvio tag.--ACSE (talk) 01:40, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
Hakone Ekiden
Thank you for removing the "winner" I added yesterday. My mistake!
I will let you add the winner after the race finishes today! Thunder Rabbit (talk) 03:56, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
Regarding categorizing victims of child sexual abuse
With reference to Category:Child sexual abuse victims, and your reverting articles being categorized into it prior to the category itself being speedily deleted, I invite you to take a look a a table which I have compiled which I believe gives a needed perspective on the nature of this matter. You might also want to read a similar post which I have made to SqueakBox' talk page. I welcome your reaction to this and hope for a constructive dialogue. __meco (talk) 15:02, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
- I don't think that problems have been solved since Misplaced Pages:Categories for discussion/Log/2007 July 23#Category:Rape victims.--ACSE (talk) 23:24, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
- That's a highly relevant and interesting discussion which I shall update myself on before I proceed in this discourse. __meco (talk) 11:59, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletions of talk pages of redirects
Please note that a talk page of a redirect, which itself is a redirect to the talk page of the redirect target, isn't covered by any CSD. Please keep in mind that CSD G8 only applies to talk pages of non-existent pages (although they can be tagged when the paraelell non-talk page is about to be deleted, such as a valid CSD tag), not to talk pages of redirects. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 09:47, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

Updating
Hi, I appreciate that you updated Asashoryu, but actually ALL the active wrestlers needs updating, not just the Yusho and Sansho winners. Pawnkingthree is on vacation and I would appreciate your help, if you have the time. FourTildes (talk) 22:28, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for your help with the edits! これから(もちろん、時間があれば)よろしく! FourTildes (talk) 01:43, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
Matsuo Fujimoto
I have moved the article you created to Matsuo Fujimoto, it has not been deleted. Please feel fre to edit it in it's new place. BigHairRef | Talk 03:08, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
AfD nomination of January 2008 stock market volatility
An editor has nominated January 2008 stock market volatility, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Misplaced Pages's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Misplaced Pages is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/January 2008 stock market volatility (2nd nomination) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 19:59, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
Mutsuo Toi
Thank you for correcting those articles. I have seen editors change the 29 to 30, and back again, in Spree killing for a while. English-language Reason magazine was all I had to go by. Regards, CliffC (talk) 14:40, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
Tournament tables
Thank you for your corrections of my pre-1958 basho tables. And thank you for making a new table for Jinmaku. You and Pawnkingthree are doing a lot to improve the sumo information on English wikipedia. FourTildes (talk) 06:17, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
Hi, thanks for updating the 全勝優勝 on the tournament winners list. I was planning to do that, but I forgot. I also see you fixed some links; Ryogoku for example. And thanks for the Tachiyama table reformat. FourTildes (talk) 20:20, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for the Inazuma Raigoro fixes. I knew there were mistakes and the references to fix, but my Yahoo BB internet connection is very bad recently and I couldn't get online to finish the article. (言い訳ばかりはいけないよね。)FourTildes (talk) 19:19, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
Hi, I thought the note at the bottom "usually due to injury" might be a problem for early rikishi. Thanks for changing that. FourTildes (talk) 00:33, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for putting in those last two tables; in particular Ōkido Moriemon. I've never been able to find any Osaka sumo data in English so there's no way I'd have been able to do it. Regards, Pawnkingthree (talk) 10:53, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
Kashiwado Risuke
Thanks for the Kashiwado Risuke article. I'd never even heard of him before I started the Sumo records article, and yet he won 16 championships! So, like Raiden, he was a yokozuna strength wrestler who never got the title for political reasons? Very interesting. --Pawnkingthree (talk) 11:29, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
List of sumo records
Thanks for moving the talk page for the list of sumo records. It was careless of me not to do so. 10:31, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks
For the references you added to Takanohana, and the tourney table for Chikubayama. I should have let you know (as well as Four Tildes) about my discovery of how to do Juryo and Makushita in those tables, but I see you noticed anyway. Regards, Pawnkingthree (talk) 15:07, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the July updates; much appreciated. Cheers, Pawnkingthree (talk) 21:29, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
Asashoryu July 2008 injury
Should we really assume that he is out for the whole tournament? Wrestlers frequently pull out early and attempt to return in the second week. I believe we should hold off on declaring the yokozuna absent. --Do Not Talk About Feitclub (contributions) 00:39, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
- Oops, double-checking the history shows that you didn't make that edit. Sorry about that. --Do Not Talk About Feitclub (contributions) 00:44, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
