Kruševo is a city in Republic of Macedonia. It is highest town in the Balkans as it is situated at an altitude of 1330 meters above the sea level. During the Ilinden-Preobrazhenie Uprising in 1903 the rebels proclaimed short lived Kruševo Republic. Having suppressed the uprising the city was almost completelly destroyed by the Ottoman army.
