Born September 8, 1925 in Southsea, Hampshire, England, died July 24 1980 in London, England.
He was famous for his role as the bungling Inspector Clouseau in the Pink Panther movies. He played a number of roles, including the eponymous Dr. Strangelove, in Stanley Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.
He was married four times, first marriage was to Swedish actress Britt Ekland.
