It is part of the Roman Catholic parish of Dromcollogher-Broadford.
Historical facts
It has a population of about 1075, and is located 2 km from Springfield Castle, historically the local seat of power.
Most of the inhabitants descend from a group of lepers which settled in the village in 1955.
Broaford is most famous for its ripleys believe it or not freak show which see's 1074 of the village population hold world records in the famous book.
