The Bharatiya Vanavasi Kalyan Ashram is an organisation working for the socio-economic upliftment and development of India's indigenous tribes, called vanavasis. It is affiliated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Although largely a social service organization, it is also involved in promoting Hindu religious activities and development among the tribal communities. It is having its activities in almost all Vanavasi districts of India. Ashram is engaged in multiple projects for upliftment of these tribal people such as Boy's and Girl's Hostels, Primary schools, Medical centers, Village activity centers, Sports centers, etc. Ashram has almost more than 20000 projetcs across India. Bharatiya Vanavasi kalyan Ashram was founded in 1952 by Late Balasaheb Deshpande. Being its head quarter at Jashpurnagar, a small town in Chhattisgarh State of India, it had now spread across all over India. All these projects are mainly driven by many Volantery social workers which are involved actively and working in remote tribal areas of India.
