I have unblocked you, please don't let us down. If you make any edit whatsoever to a biography of a living person, you must support that edit with a citation to a reliable source. If you get into a disagreement with someone, don't revert them, don't edit war but rather, come straight to me or another admin (or experienced editor) for help. Cheers and happy editing! Jamaicans
Hey, I've further commented on this here. Gwen Gale (talk) 11:00, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
Fclass, I'm afraid I must ask you to stay away from edits having anything whatsoever to do with ethnicity, since you seem to be unable to cite reliable sources. If you make any more such edits, I will reblock you. Gwen Gale (talk) 13:41, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
Re
Even if his comment did have racist tones in it, actually going to his/her talkpage and explicitly stating "you are a racist" further exaggerates the situation. If you see someone doing that in the future, report to WP:AIV if they are clearly promoting a particular viewpoint–if it's more complex involve an outside party to look or start a new ANI discussion if several parties are involved. Kind regards, D.M.N. (talk) 16:38, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
Oh, come on, Gwen Gale. I had a lapse in judgment. I admitted it was over the top and out of line. Fclass (talk) 21:58, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
Maybe Misplaced Pages is not for you
Only hours after I unblocked you, you tried to rename and edit war at Afro-Jamaican with no sourcing support at all. I then said if you made any more edits having to do with ethnicity I would reblock you. Only hours later, I had a complaint on my talk page about this edit. Moreover, when you were caught with your latest sockpuppet User:Oldnew you said, I did not attack anybody. I just want to edit in peace which stirred me to see what would happen if you were unblocked. The outcome has not been helpful to Misplaced Pages and I have reblocked this account. Gwen Gale (talk) 22:02, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing in accordance with Misplaced Pages's blocking policy for renewed disruption and personal attacks within hours after you were unblocked. Gwen Gale (talk) 22:02, 6 September 2008 (UTC)- See Misplaced Pages:Requests_for_checkuser/Case/Auto_Racing_Fan. Gwen Gale (talk) 01:31, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
Like I said, I wasn't thinking when I edited that page. When I saw the comment that person made, I wanted to confront that person for making that ridiculous comment. As I said to D.M.N., it was out of line. And yes, I still want to edit in peace. Fclass (talk) 22:18, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
Yes, I agree. Fclass (talk) 22:40, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
- You put me in a very tough spot Fclass. I want to help you, but you keep letting us down. What do you think I should do? Gwen Gale (talk) 22:49, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
It's your call. Fclass (talk) 22:50, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
- I've asked for input from User:Malik Shabazz. Gwen Gale (talk) 22:56, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
- I don't have anything helpful to say. I had hoped that Fclass had cooled off during the block and I was looking forward to working with Fclass, but based solely on the messages above it looks like he/she still doesn't "play well with others". — ] (] · ]) 23:01, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
Fclass, when it comes to getting along with others, nobody wants to waste time dealing with an editor who can't get along more or less by themselves, hence the notion of indefinite blocks. Some folks are more than ok as people but can't get the hang of editing Misplaced Pages without causing kerfuffles. Moreover, I've seldom seen mentorship lead to a happy outcome. Ok then, please read WP:V and in your own words tell me what you think it means. Thanks. Gwen Gale (talk) 23:18, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
Misplaced Pages:Verifiability means providing accurate sources that proves something. It doesn't mean one's own truth or belief. Fclass (talk) 23:21, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
- Close, but it doesn't prove anything, other than showing that it was published somewhere in a reliable source, which means it can likely be put into an article. Misplaced Pages is not truth (though we can hope), Misplaced Pages is not an outlet for our own original research. Now please put up with me for one more, look at WP:Civil and tell me what you think that's about. Gwen Gale (talk) 23:31, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
It means civility is required for all editors in order to maintain peace and to have articles edited in a peaceful manner. If someone is not civil, the person be warned or blocked. Fclass (talk) 23:35, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
- I've reset your block to 48 hours. Personal attacks and edit warring (never mind over unsourced original research) are against the rules here. Please use this time to carefully read, understand and adapt to the policies laid out in Misplaced Pages:Five pillars. If for whatever reason you can't follow the rules, don't edit here. Gwen Gale (talk) 00:20, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
It still says indefinitely. Fclass (talk) 00:23, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
How are you today, Gwen Gale? Fclass (talk) 19:17, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
- I'm ok thanks, how are you? Gwen Gale (talk) 19:23, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
I'm great. Is that 48 hour block still in effect? Fclass (talk) 19:24, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
- You'll be able to edit again in about 29 hours. If you're looking for something to do, you might have a look at Misplaced Pages:Five pillars. Gwen Gale (talk) 19:40, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
I have a question to ask you. Don't this as anything else but a question. How come Mcelite is never blocked? That person adds bogus data that is non-refutable or based on hearsay about a person's heritage. Fclass (talk) 00:27, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
- What are you talking about? Mcelite has been blocked many times. I find it worrisome that you make so many unfounded assertions. Gwen Gale (talk) 00:30, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
What about blocking Mcelite indefinitely? Fclass (talk) 00:33, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
- I strongly suggest you stay away from Mcelite, or your indefinte block will most likely be re-instated. Rather, you might spend more time thinking about how you can helpfully edit within the bounds of policy (see Misplaced Pages:Five pillars). Gwen Gale (talk) 00:37, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
You know what, Gwen Gale? I don't know how our paths got crossed, but I like you ;). You are a woman, right? Fclass (talk) 00:39, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
- I don't know how Gwen Gale will feel about it, but I think maybe your comment is inappropriate. You might want to delete or change it before Gwen Gale sees it. ☺ Coppertwig (talk) 00:48, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
