Konni is a small hilly town in the Pathanamthitta district, Kerala state, India.

Konni is famous for its elephant cage, forest, and rubber plantations.

The Main Eastern Highway ( Punalur-Pathanamthitta-Muvattupuzha Road / SH - 08 ) connects the town to other major towns.

Konni is an important junction on the Kottayam-Punalur route. It is about 11 km from the district headquarters. It is an important center for cash crops like rubber, pepper, coffee and ginger which form the backbone of the agricultural economy of the state. Konni is also known for its elephant rides and the Anakoodu where elephants are tamed and trained for work. Konni is the gate-way to the forest bordering the district. In the past, wild elephants caught from the forests were brought here and put in wooden cages known as 'Aanakoodu' (Elephant Cage) to be tamed and trained for work.

Important Places in Konni

1. Vietnam Junction. Vietnam junction is located at the end point of Post office road leading from konni town.. Almost all the govt offices are located besides the post office road.

2. Kallely. Kallely is famous for its thick green rubber plantations and mind blowing water streams, perfect for a one day trip.

3. Thannithode. The entrance to forest, green forest with nature's scary noice. you can see many places inside the forest, which are not yet disturbed by man.

4. Bungalow hill. This place is located at the heart of konni. just a 10 mins walk from konni. the whole konni town and the allied hills and forest can be seen from here..

5. kokkathodu. A place still lacking the electric energy !! a perfect natural land which makes the word perfect "God's own country"

6. Thekkuthodu. Thannithodu and thekkuthodu are the two wings of heaven's own land. gifted by nature. Thekkuthode is a beautiful and peaceful place blessed by God with nature's beauty.

7. Manjakadambu. Manjakadambu is a small junction in Konni.

8. "Muringamangalam Temple" more than 1000 yrs old....very traditional....1/2 km from Konni Junction. It used to belong to the Pandalam Royal Family.

9.Iravon...very beautiful and important place near konni...the famous "puthiyakavu temple" is located here...near achankovil river...

10.Attachackal.One of the famous place in konny. Famous St.George Higher Secondary School is located over here.This places is also gifted with the natural beauty
