He is the watcher over the child-like Kokori who live in Kokori Forest. He is a great tree who holds the Kokori's Emerald. He looks after Link when he grows up, but gets cursed by Ganondorf, for not giving him the Kokori's Emerald. Link goes and defeats the enemies inside him but it is too late. The curse kills him, but not after he has the chance to tell Link to find Princess Zelda at Hyrule Castle.
