"We Rock", written by Demi Lovato, Dylan Sprouse, Danny Kallis, Miley Cyrus as Hannah Montana and Adrienne Bailon, is the first official single by the cast of Hannah Montana's 1st Movie, a film from Paramount Pictures, Adrienne Bailon Productions, DreamWorks Pictures, Imagine Entertainment, Columbia Pictures, Hannah Montana Productions, Walden Media, Nickelodeon Movies and Spyglass Entertainment, that is featured on the new original motion picture soundtrack from Columbia Records, Paramount Pictures' Hannah Montana's 1st Movie: An Original Columbia Records Soundtrack! It was first released on May 20, 2008 in Target retail stores only as an Exclusive Camp Rock Fan Pack, and later released on June 3, 2008 on iTunes digital music store as a single and a music video/movie version single and also the opening credits song for the movie, along with an exclusive Radio Nickelodeon interview with the Jonas Brothers. This Hannah Montana's 1st Movie song features vocals from The Jonas Brothers, Adrienne Bailon, Corbin Bleu, Ashley Tisdale, Roshon Fegan, Dylan Sprouse, Jasmine Richards, Anna Maria Perez de Tagle, Miley Cyrus as Hannah Montana and Aaryn Doyle.
Release
Disney released a single CD, Exclusive Camp Rock Fan Pack of the single through Target retail stores only, starting May 20, 2008; Target is selling other Camp Rock products as well, such as special edition novels, poster books, tote bags, clothings, etc. The Exclusive Camp Rock Fan Pack includes the CD single, an instrumental verison, the music video, a mini-poster, a ringtone, and more. As of June 3, 2008, the song from Hannah Montana's 1st Movie is available on iTunes in two new versions. One of them is the single and an exclusive Radio Nickelodeon interview and another one is the music video and an exclusive Radio Nickelodeon interview with the Jonas Brothers.
Charts
This single sold over 11,000 copies for the Target exclusive fan pack edition the first week it was released and debuted at #1 on Billboard's Hot 100 Singles Sales chart. On Radio Nickelodeon, We Rock (Hannah Montana's 1st Movie version) was often at #3, peaking at #2 for one week. As of July 27th, it is at #8. To date, the song has peaked at #11 on the Apple iTunes chart.
We Rock - Around the World
On May 18, 2008, Disney Channel premiered the "We Rock - Around The World" music video. The music video had many guest appearances from Disney Channel stars around the world including, Selena Gomez, Jason Dolley, Mitchel Musso, and fans showing banners and the feature dance move of the song. The music video also included more of the actual performance of Final Jam. For example, in the first verse, they finally showed who were the two singing it, Ashley Tisdale from High School Musical, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and Phineas and Ferb and Jasmine Richards from Naturally, Sadie. The music video was included on the "Hannah Montana's 1st Movie" DVD, VHS and Paramount/Nickelodeon Blu-ray.
