MedCom
Hello, I'm sending this message out to all users listed as inactive at WP:MC. Some of you have been on leave for quite some time, and I'm hoping one or two of you may return to active (every active editor has a case assigned). I know some of you are busy with other wikimedia stuff, like Angela Anthere and Danny, and some of you are busy with academic stuff, like MacGyverMagic and ClockworkSoul. However I still want to leave this message in the hope of perhaps getting some more of you on hand. It's by no means mandatory though, so don't worry. -Acting Chair, Redwolf24 (talk) 02:00, 3 October 2005 (UTC)
re: Email
Hi JC, Thanks for your note. I'm afraid my heart is not in it though. It seems to me the original idea of Esperanza kind of blew up in front of our eyes. I think it was an excellent idea and I do hope Essjay can get some form of it up and running and I will support it in a on the sidelines sort of way. I think it has stood still for too long and needs to start moving forward. Glad you're back and searching for ways to make Misplaced Pages stronger and better. For that, I thank you and will continue to support you. I'll be around! See ya! Maltmomma 21:40, 3 October 2005 (UTC)
Everything OK
I'm fine, just very busy, thanks for asking. -- Jmabel | Talk 05:29, 5 October 2005 (UTC)
Stress level 4.
Erm, I am a bit concerned about your wikistress level. Do you need any help?--Exir Kamalabadi 06:24, 6 October 2005 (UTC)
- Hope you're alright JC. Maybe it's time for a Wikibreak? Go out and play in the cooler weather? It's finally here! ;o) Maltmomma 16:22, 6 October 2005 (UTC)
Allow me to echo these dedicated users, and offer a cup of coffee. If I can help, let me know. -- Essjay · Talk 18:24, 6 October 2005 (UTC)
Here's a minivacation to help you relax...

Your Misplaced Pages history thing
You might want to coordinate with Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Wikidemia. Not the same thing, but the two might go hand in hand. -- Jmabel | Talk 17:43, 8 October 2005 (UTC)
- Yes, feel free to use my essay; & in case you didn't notice, I made a couple of small edits to your page. -- Jmabel | Talk 04:38, 9 October 2005 (UTC)
- I don't know what your expectations are on me as a Regent, but again, I warn you: while you have my blessing on this project, I can't even keep up with my watchlist and the articles I'm trying to write, and I am not committing myself to active participation in this. I guess I'll be willing to hold the position briefly, but barring that my life changes dramatically and in an unexpected direction, the sooner I can be replaced, the better. -- Jmabel | Talk 17:24, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
Wikipediology
How exciting! This is a great idea. I wish there was something like this when I first joined. When I had a question, people would refer me to a page but the answer was never clear and concise. I still get lost looking for answers. I looked it over and made a few minor corrections. Count me in JC! Maltmomma 13:56, 9 October 2005 (UTC)
- I'll take the Regent Ñ position if that's okay. Maltmomma 00:03, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
- Sure, whatever you need me to do to help. Maltmomma 15:26, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
Looks interesting! I'm going to go ahead and place my name on the list of fellows — how do you come up with all these great ideas? I'm thinking that we could adapt several Signpost articles into a comprehensive history of the ArbCom. Flcelloguy | A note? | Desk | WS 22:08, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
- I'm in. -- Essjay · Talk 22:37, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
- I'll help as soon as my RfC and other stress clear up. Cheers J and I'm glad to see you :) Redwolf24 (talk—How's my driving?) 01:15, 12 October 2005 (UTC)
- I'll read it and get back to you. Work is interfering with life right now. ;-) I do think you should have the longer Regent position though. Maltmomma 19:21, 12 October 2005 (UTC)
Chinese Ao
Granted, my command of Chinese is extremely shaky, but as far as I know, the "ao" sound does not exist as an individual word in Mandarin Chinese, but as only as a vowel sound attached to other words - as you say, Mao, or Dao (Tao). The situation may be different in other dialects. Not sure if this helps. --khaosworks (talk • contribs) 02:55, 12 October 2005 (UTC)
- I don't think so, but like I said, my grasp of Chinese is not that good. --khaosworks (talk • contribs) 03:04, 12 October 2005 (UTC)
- Hmm...I hope you don't mind me jumping in. There are at least 16 words in Mandarin with this pronounciation. Take the Mandarin word for Macau. The first word is of the "ao-4" sound. --HappyCamper 01:05, 16 October 2005 (UTC)
Tripuraneni Ramaswamy Choudhury
Hi, just noticed that u've attached an NPOV tag to the above. Can you also write something on the talkpage of the article (as it is a convention that an NPOV tag is accompanied by the reasons why it is considered POV)? I know the reason as I saw your edit summary, but not everyone wd necessarily do that. --Gurubrahma 10:11, 16 October 2005 (UTC)
Wikibio template
Sure thing. For some reason, {{wikibio}} messed up my user page, so I created {{User wikibio}}, which works. Andre (talk) 21:39, 16 October 2005 (UTC)
- Great! I just did some copyediting on your Wikibio and Jmabel's, more to come later. Andre (talk) 22:12, 16 October 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for invitation
Thanks for the invitation. I've been busy the last few weeks but I will definately check out and join some of the projects you mentioned. Best,--Alabamaboy 00:04, 19 October 2005 (UTC) BTW, I'm really interested in the Institute of Wikipediology. I put my name down there and will be exploring it more in the coming days.--Alabamaboy 00:11, 19 October 2005 (UTC)
Wikibios
In my Wikibio: why replace a good link to DanKeshet's user page with a redlink to his (nonexistent) wikibio? -- Jmabel | Talk 06:23, 19 October 2005 (UTC)

Can I get your vote?
I have been nominated for an adminship and I was wondering if I could get your vote. If you feel inclined, please go to Misplaced Pages:Requests for adminship/Alabamaboy and cast your "yes" or "not in a million years." Many thanks.--Alabamaboy 02:34, 23 October 2005 (UTC)
