Revision as of 16:25, 7 March 2004 by Andre Engels (talk | contribs)(diff) ← Previous revision | Latest revision (diff) | Newer revision → (diff)Congo is the name of:
- The Congo River in central Africa, or the basin of that river. The Congo and its subsidiaries run through the second largest rain forest area in the world, only the Amazon Rainforest being (much) larger.
- In Vodun, a rather dull and lazy spirit was named Congo.
There are also two countries in Africa both named Congo, after the river:
- Republic of the Congo - Congo/Brazzaville, the smaller one in the west.
- Democratic Republic of the Congo - formerly Zaire - Congo/Kinshasa, the larger one in the east. See also: Congo Free State.
