"Hot Dogs" is episode 19 of season 1 of the television show Veronica Mars.
Plot
When shy student Mandy has her dog kidnapped, Veronica takes on the case and ventures in Neptune's seedy underbelly of dognapping rings. Sort of. Also, Weevil breaks into Lilly's room to steal something. Logan asks for Veronica's help to track down his sister Trina's abusive boyfriend. Just when they find out who he is, Logan finds out that he is coming over for dinner. Logan and Veronica arrive at Logan's house to find that Aaron, Logan's father, has beaten up Trina's boyfriend. Logan drives Veronica back home, and they kiss. Veronica and Logan begin secretly dating, and Veronica breaks things off with Deputy Leo.
Arc significance
- Weevil breaks into Lilly's room and steals a pink "spy pen" that Lilly used to hold secret messages. He gives it back to Veronica, but it's empty.
- Keith discreetly takes hair samples from Veronica and sends in for a DNA test.
- Veronica find out how violent Aaron is. So does Trina, earlier she said "All those stories you told" to Logan after talking about Aarons beating him - Logan.
