Tuukka Rask (born in Savonlinna, Finland on March 10, 1987) is a Finnish national goaltender who was drafted 21st overall in the 2005 NHL Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs. Due to the unimpressive play of Wade Belak, Rask was signed by the Toronto Maple Leafs, and is currently awaiting the international transfer to go through. Many criticize this decision, as many prospects (With the rare exception of players like Mario Lemieux), have had their development impeded by being rushed into the NHL.

He is 6' 2" and weights 183 lbs. He played in 26 games for Ilves Jr. in the Finnish Jr. League. His GAA was 1.86 with 2 shoutouts with a .935 save percentage. He was the top ranked European goaltender in the 2005 draft.
