Juan Diego Flórez was born in 1973 in Lima, Peru. He has come into the public light increasingly since the late 1990s. Primarily a Bel Canto tenor, he is justly famous for his roles in Rossini operas. He has released three CD's on the Decca label, which have met with positive reviews regarding his technique. The most common complaint against his singing is his possible lack of individual characterization of each role.
