Unix template?

Why would the UNIX template link to Linux?Fsiler 10:31, 11 November 2005 (UTC)

I'm sorry, which Unix template? Is there a Unix template already?

If not, what's wrong with a template listing Unix-like OSes, where all linux distros occupy just one position? --tyomitch 13:07, 11 November 2005 (UTC)

Sorry, I think I had a little bit of misunderstanding. I was under the impression that you proposed to make a generic "mostly POSIX-ish" category and then make the category link to Linux, which made little sense. I think Linux should be listed as a POSIX-ish OS, but there should be a separate category for linux distributions. They are, after all, all the same OS. Fsiler 06:52, 12 November 2005 (UTC)
That's almost exactly what I meant. Since we're discussing the nav template (not a category) there, "linking" and "listing" is the same thing: adding link to an article into the template.
What disgusted me in the current revision of Template:linux-distro is exactly that linux distros are listed in a way supposing each of them is a new OS. --tyomitch 15:00, 12 November 2005 (UTC)
