The Mundart des Ostgebiets is a subdialect of Low Prussian, a dialect of Low German. It was spoken around Insterburg (now Chernyakhovsk, Russia), the Memel (Klaipėda, Lithuania), and Tilsit (Sovyetsk, Russia). Many speakers of this subdialect were Prussian Lithuanians.
