This article is about the district in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. There is another district with the same Japanese name (愛知県; Aichi-gun) in Shiga Prefecture, see Echi District, Shiga.

The current Aichi (愛知郡; Aichi-gun) District is located east of the city of Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. As of September 1, 2008, the district has an estimated Population of 91,533 and a Density of 2,310 persons/km². The total area is 39.57 km².

The district once as known as the Ayuchi(あゆち) because the seashore was near to the current Nagoya Station, and the prefecture named after this largest district because the capital was placed at the (former) town of Nagoya, Aichi District. Since Meiji Era, the towns of Nagoya and Atsuta (currently Atsuta-ku) merged to become the city of Nagoya and absorbed the surrounding towns and villages, and the town of Nisshin gained city status due to the population growth since the opening of the Meitetsu Toyota Line, the current Aichi District now only have two towns written below.

Between the towns of Nagakute and Tōgō, there is the city of Nisshin.

Also, Shiga Prefecture has the exact name(愛知郡) it is pronounced as "Echi."
