A sysop is short for "system operator", and is a commonly used term for the administrator of a bulletin board system (BBS) or special-interest area of an online service.

Usage peaked in the early 1990s, as the term was actually mostly used strictly to refer to BBS operators--people doing equivalent functions on the Internet are primarily referred to as "admins", short for administrator.

the whole wikipedia system is drowning.

free thought is based on the lack of coercion

the 'admin' layer just ads that layer of coercion. of force.

if certain things cannot be discussed, in the open, and come to agreement on basis of the masses, then you have nothing but another stupid boring website full of biased garbage.
