Long term abuse is a page intended to hold information describing editors or IPs who should be known by as many users as possible to aid in detecting and defeating their policy violations. This page has been confused with several other pages, so please check the "Explanation" section if this is your first time here.
See Misplaced Pages:Long term abuse/Page 2 for entries which are older, but might still be relevant.

Dealing with vandalism |
Resources and assistance |
Further information |
This page should contain only properly categorized, unique entries on specific vandals with enough relevant and correct information to allow other people to identify them and their tracks. To keep this page functioning smoothly, please:
- Do not add an entry here requesting action, such as a block or page protect. This page is not scanned regularly, as Administrator intervention against vandalism (WP:AIV) and, to a lesser degree, Requests for page protection (WP:RFPP) are. If you need someone blocked or a page protected, please refer to those two links.
- Only add vandals here; if you have been blocked as well as the "vandal" for edit warring or similar, do not add them yourself or use sockpuppets to do so. This page is not for dealing with two sided edit-wars, only one-sided vandalism.
- Only add vandals who need to be pointed out, such as sneaky sockpuppeteers, trolls, etc. Really obvious vandals should be reported to WP:AIV or, if they use sockpuppets, Misplaced Pages:Sockpuppet investigations. Likewise, vandals should only be added here if their vandalisms are serious (A good rule of thumb is whether or not their primary account has been indefinitely blocked). If you are not sure, ask on the talk page; we'll help.
- Do not report IP addresses! Severe IP vandals should be reported to Misplaced Pages:Abuse reports, not here.
- Do not use this page for discussions. If there needs to be a discussion, start it on the talk page and link to its section from this page. If there is a discussion going on elsewhere, link to it.
- Do not "sign" your entries, but do say who originally reported them, or who are the most knowledgeable about them so they can be contacted if need be.
- Do not use relative phrases like "recently" or "lately" without qualification. Try using "as of" to remedy this: "As of August 3, ..."
- Do not add entries without the vital information enumerated below; they will almost certainly be useless and end up being removed.
- Keep this page free of useless content: Avoid off-topic discussion or other unneeded text, do not add images (Link to them if they are relevant to the entry), and refrain from injecting emotions into reports here.
- Remember to update entries with new or important information.
Criteria for addition
Users listed should have a marked past of policy violations well before and after their final, indefinite, block. User accounts that are listed as vandals but only have minor blocks, or "major vandals"/"sockpuppets" that aren't blocked indefinitely, will likely be removed. The relevant logs should back up your assertions, not contradict them.
Note that shared IP addresses (e.g. Schools, libraries, prisons, legislatures, etc.) engaging in egregious vandalisms should be reported on this page as they specialize in dealing with such IPs.
Criteria for removal
Any entry may be removed by anyone if it is clearly:
- An old entry of an inactive vandal; subpages may be nominated for deletion on Misplaced Pages:Miscellany for deletion
- Completely improper, incorrect or malicious (False report), incomplete or totally incoherent. Vandals "reporting themselves" should almost always be reverted.
Adding to this page
- Check the subpages to ensure that they aren't already known about there.
- If the vandal's totally new, create an entry at the bottom of the appropriate section (see below for an explanation), with a descriptive heading, and under it a "Modus operandi" subsection.
- This is vital: Without information on what a certain "vandal" does or how they do it, it will be impossible for other readers to understand how to spot them. Entries without this information will almost certainly be removed. See below for more information.
- If they're already listed on this page, add new information if you have it (Such as new sockpuppets or MOs). Discussion should be kept to a minimum, such as an open ended question about a puzzling attribute. In this instance, if you post the answer, incorporate it into the entry and remove the question. This page is extremely long as it is, if there needs to be prolonged discussion, use a talk page and link to it from the entry. Off topic discussion should be removed by anyone and any large discussion that has idled may be summarized.
Necessary information in an entry
Entries MUST have the following information to have utility:
- A list of the vandal's account(s). IP addresses should not be listed unless they are used SOLELY by them or have other useful attributes. Usernames should be listed to with the {{vandal}} template and {{IPvandal}} used for any IPs. If they have a category for their sockpuppets, link to it.
- A description of his/her modus operandi. Good detail is important; unneeded information will be trimmed out by others, but a under-explained entry will require other people to sift through links, or just remove it. Linking some "diffs" (revisions) of their vandalisms is a good way to provide information on their vandalism it will show exactly what the vandal has been doing. Note that linking to a "rolling list", such as a page's history, is NOT passable: pages keep getting edits and after a while, the vandalic entries are several pages back.
In either report, you don't need to list more than five socks/examples, barring something extremely unusual. If there are more than that many sockpuppets, consider creating a category and tagging their userpages with sockpuppet tags.
If you aren't sure that your entry is correct, it is OK to request formatting help in then entry. If people have questions when they fix the format, they may ask you for more details.

Subpages
These pages contain information on more serious or unusual cases which merit a fixed location of reference. Before creating a new subpage, please read the guidelines. Frequently people jump directly to creating a subpage instead of listing a vandal on this page which often results in unnecessary pages which serve little purpose and end up getting deleted.
Some questions to ask of the new subpage and its subject:
- Is the vandal a "long term" vandal? Remember the pages are subpages of LTA and have to fulfill the same criteria as entries on LTA.
- Does the vandal deserve a more permanent information location? Why can't they be listed on LTA like any other? There has to be a definite reason (or number of reasons) for giving them a subpage beyond "the LTA page section is too long" (e.g. engages in a very serious form of vandalism; appears to suffer from a mental disorder).
- Is their vandalism simple and easy to detect? If so, then there probably isn't much need to create a page describing it, as users will be able to pick up on and deal with it as typical vandalism without requiring any insight into previous vandalism and/or whether or not a particular person is responsible for it. Pages on vandals which provide little help beyond what could easily be discovered by simply monitoring recent changes serve little purpose. As above, prolixity doesn't by itself warrant a subpage.
- Is the increased effort worth it? Keep in mind that subpages must be maintained and kept up to date, if no new developments are likely to occur and there is no great need to inform everyone about them, a subpage would likely grow extremely stale very quickly.
Some example of "legit" subpages and why:
- Primetime - This vandal regularly engages in wanton copyright infringement that could place the Wikimedia Foundation in serious legal danger.
- DavidYork71, Ericsaindon2 and Lightbringer These vandals are obsessed with inserting their POV into articles, and make no effort whatsoever to discuss their edits. To someone who doesn't know about them, they may appear to be legitimate participants in a content dispute rather than banned users. Due to this, unneeded and (proven) useless dispute resolution may be pursued rather than simply blocking their socks, wasting people's time.

The IP above attempted to remove this section and is noted for ranting wildly and making borderline personal attacks on people he runs in to. With a new IP, he will often make several edits about Saskatchewan politics (IP addresses mostly trace to Saskatoon or similar) before returning to Suki or New World Religion.

Modus operandi
Sneaky vandal, alters statistics about population, race and skin colour, entering fabricated or poorly-calculated values or blanking demographics sections. Turn-ons include weather, human height, blonde hair colour, Canadian Aboriginal population. Also categorizes people into ethnic categories (many of these are legit edits). This vandal has used various Canadian IP addresses as well as Brazilian dynamic IP.
Examples
- Fabricating population figures
- Altering table statistics
- Creating race categories by aggregating actual multiple-response statistics, which should not be added
- Compiling race statistics by looking at high-school yearbook photos
- Blanking demographics tables or article sections.
- Explaining away invalid statistics calculations (this has become rare)
Bogdanov sockpuppets
Sockpuppets have been attacking the article Bogdanov Affair since 2005. The sockpuppets are easily recognisable; all use long edit summaries, never post to the talk page, and are completely unsubtle as to their reverts (that is, the diffs of each individual sockpuppet, when checked, will be identical or near-identical).
Until recently single-purpose accounts were used exclusively, since February 2007 the sockpuppeteer(s) have somehow begun resurrecting dormant accounts and using those. For example:
- Special:Contributions/Bester, made four edits in July 2005, resurrected in February 2007.
- Special:Contributions/Stern, made over 500 edits from 2004 to August 2006, resurrected in February 2007.
- Special:Contributions/Tron, made around a score of edits in Feburary 2004, resurrected three years later.
The above accounts showed none of the telling characteristics (long edit summaries etc) until their resurrection, when they began showing the signs listed above. None (as of Feb 2007) have edited Bogdanov Affair before falling dormant, but after resurrection they only edited Bogdanov Affair, even though they may have had diverse edit histories prior to being compromised. Whether these accounts have been hacked or willingly given over is not important unless the accounts request unblocking; as of Feburary 2007 none of them have done so.
Note that the arbitration committee has ruled several times (e.g. RFAR/Iasson) "For the purpose of dispute resolution when there is uncertainty whether a party is one user with sockpuppets or several users with similar editing habits they may be treated as one user with sockpuppets". In this particular case "the criteria for determining external involvement shall be a review of their edit history, it being presumed that if the vast majority of their edits are to the Bogdanov Affair they are not Misplaced Pages editors but persons involved in the external dispute." (see RFAR/Regarding The Bogdanov Affair)
In summary, all accounts which display the above obvious characteristics should be reverted and blocked on sight. Accounts which suddenly begin showing these characteristics despite a previous edit history which bears no resemblance to the Bogdanov sockpuppetry should be considered compromised and also blocked. If the compromised accounts request unblocking, that can be dealt with when it comes.

BenH
BenH (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) was repeatedly warned for vandalism and infantile edits to television station articles (I've fixed at least two of them). He's had an RfC pending on him for almost a year and hasn't bothered to respond--he's been indefinitely blocked since July. Moreover, he's been suspected of using numerous sockpuppets. An administrator mentioned that he'd blocked one of them since BenH was permanently banned, but there's no notation in his block log of this. One of his suspected sockpuppets was active as late as March 20.
This guy obviously has no intentions of being a meaningful contributor, and the block hasn't stopped him.
Modus operandi
He makes unsourced and low-quality edits to TV station and other miscellaneous articles. Some of the things he does are add unsourced and false dates to TV station foundings, and stubbing articles that are way past stub status.
Examples
Enough for a subpage by itself, so here are some of the really bad ones:
Lyle123
Lyle123 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) and sockpuppets
- Confirmed
- Suspected
This vandal uses sockpuppets to create hoax articles about purported animated films. Many of his articles either copy the wikitext of a legitimate film article or an article about a children's book. For example, Sir Tod (1974 film) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) is a copy of The Jungle Book (1967 film) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views). Some of his accounts combine legitimate and vandalous edits.
Those dealing with this user may want to watchlist his articles, as he frequently removes deletion tags and reposts deleted pages.
When he creates a hoax article, he will often add it to a list or template, such as the following:
- Aardman Animations (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
- Imagi Animation Studios (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
- List of animated feature-length films (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
- List of computer-animated films (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
- List of Disney theatrical animated features (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
- Template:Disney direct-to-video animated features (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
- Template:Disney theatrical animated features (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
- Template:Sony Imageworks Films (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
- Sony Pictures Television (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
He also adds links to his articles in the "filmography" section of actors he claims are starring in the films (example).
Administrator Tregoweth has been watching Lyle123's activities since January 2007, and is probably the most knowledgeable about his activities.
Freddy Rantol (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) - this might be Lyle123's "original" account, from December 2006. This user created a fake animated feature article and added it to the "list of animated feature films" (). He also created an article about a 12-year-old boy which was deleted. Since then this account has had no edits.
In June 2007, a CU request on StealBoy (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) was requested. The chances of the two being the same are high, and Lyle is not afraid of making a sockpuppet farm.
If you happen to block suspected socks of this user, I'd appreciate being informed as I've been tracking this vandal for quite some time. You can consult my log of blocks to see the most recent instances of socking. Per WP:DENY, I've stopped adding new entries in the sockpuppet category. Pascal.Tesson (talk)

- The Wild II (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) - deleted thrice
- The Wild Forest (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) - salted
In addition, he constantly re-created the article Cat Tale, a now-canceled film that was to be released (but not produced) by Disney. The title has since been protected. "Cat the Movie" may be an attempt to revive the article under a different title.
- Most if not all of the sockpuppets are named using a CamelCase type of format relating to motion pictures. One recent example was User:TheLawmoviebyAmblinEntertainment1986. This account was created concurrently with two others. The sole edit from this account was a nanostub about a non-existent movie titled "The Law." Another sock created a brief but error-ridden nanostub on an obscure Disney home video release. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 03:30, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
- The latest titling convention has the name of the "movie" followed by the "year of release" with a string of numbers, usually sixes. Examples of this naming convention include User:AliceWonderlandII200366666 and User:Desparoad200966666. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 07:19, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
JJonathan
JJonathan (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) and sockpuppets
- Confirmed
- Suspected
Modus operandi
This very prolific vandal uses sockpuppets to add false information to articles related to pop stars and pop music. He has also created hoax articles about puported upcoming albums (e.g. Tatyana Ali's second studio album, the content of which he repeatedly recreates at various titles). Articles this user takes a particular interest in include Kylie Minogue, Danni Minogue, Aaron Carter, Tatyana Ali, Deborah Gibson, Tara Kemp, Coko, Tracie Spencer and Teddy Riley (producer). Some of his accounts combine legitimate and vandal edits - however his most obvious characteristic is the addition of false 'new album' and record label info and inappropriate vocal range and genre categories to pop singer articles, as well as making unsourced/false additions to various lists of singers by vocal range. He also tends to mark the vast majority of his logged-in edits as minor.
Example diffs (most of his edits follow this pattern and writing style):
Another characteristic, identifying edit, although not a vandal edit per se (JJonathan has been edit-warring on the Pop princess article for some time), can be seen here.
JJonathan frequently has more than one sockpuppet account on the go at any one time and simply creates more as required without any apparent intention of communicating or changing his ways. There does appear to be a certain consistency in naming, as a browse through the sockpuppet categories above will demonstrate. Variants of "Jonathan", "Joseph", "Junkie", "Libra", "September", "1989", "Groovy", "Pop", "NYC", "Dancer" and "Ball" pop up frequently in the usernames of his socks.
He is currently mostly editing using anon IPs in the 172.1xx.xx.xxx range, though the editing pattern is identical.
The User:Natalie Erin vandal
- Not sure, if I should post this here nor if somebody already did it previously, but I suspect a large batch of sockpuppets targeting the same user - like trying to post (sometimes without success) disgusting images or other type of offending materials to her user page. This is possibly ongoing for several weeks, perhaps months.
Did someone or will someone do a checkuser on all those accounts that have been vandalizing the User:Natalie Erin userpage. The type of vandalism makes me think that there is a long list of sockpuppets. Thanks!
For you to help - User:Sound sound of music, User:Benny RadioR, User:Kinersi, User:SouthAtom and User:Motor on time! are some of the suspected sock accounts. --JForget 21:00, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

- Continually adding hoax and unhelpful information to articles, particularly tornado related but to an assortment of different articles, as well creating demonstrated hoax articles complete with template and information of authentic related articles; example Eastern Colorado Tornado Outbreak of 1990. Continually restores edits and removes templates; also uses multiple accounts/IPs to try to hide activity. Evolauxia 22:18, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
- User has returned, malicious intent is arguable, but edits continue to be unsubstantiated and cited sources contain different information or are irrelevant to what is added to articles. Evolauxia (talk) 03:45, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
"Eldritch", the "Jon K is racist" vandal
Unregistered user making repeated claims that musician is racist since 13th April. I detailed the vandalism here and was advised to add notice at "Long term abuse".
Warnings have been left on 10 of the IPs talk pages, and two of the IPs were temp blocked (86.129.124.222 and 86.129.142.128), though the vandalism simply continued under different IPs. The artist article is currently under it's 4th period of protection, though the frequency with which the user vandalises other articles probably doesn't yet warrant protection on those.
Modus operandi
Clearly a vendetta against the artist. User occasionally responds to reversion of his vandalism with "it wasn't me" responses, but subsequently betrays himself by going on to vandalise other articles shortly after, in the same manner, from the same IP address. I believe the user's ISP probably randomly assigns an IP address (from a range) each time the user connects to the internet, as there are ususally several edits from one IP on one day, then several edits from a different IP on another day.
User primarily vandalises the Jon Kennedy article, but has also vandalised related / linked articles, Talk:Jon Kennedy, John Kennedy (disambiguation), John Kennedy (disc jockey), Grand Central Records, Grand Central Translation, Grand Central Vol. 2, Grand Central Vol. 3, Kava Kava, One Offs... Remixes & B-Sides, Take My Drum to England, Tru Thoughts, Useless Wooden Toys, We're Just Waiting for You Now. Some instances include attempting to add legitimacy to his claim by linking to a comment made on the forum on the official Ninja Tune website, by a user who's username is also the artist's pseudonym. It is quite evident that the comment in question has notthing to do with the artist. User has vandalised the Racism article and seemingly random articles Altona, Manitoba, Leiosauridae, Ryde Pier Head railway station with the same claims about Jon Kennedy. User has also vandalised Ross Errilly Friary (blanking page), Bernard Manning and Jim Davidson (additional "race"-based vandalism).
In addition, some users who have reverted the vandal's work have had their the user pages vandalised in repsonse, Misplaced Pages:Editor review/Magnus animum2, User talk:Lights, User talk:SJP. On one of these, the vandal signed the message "Eldritch".
Upon being warned, the vandal left responses at User talk:86.153.142.101 and User talk:86.129.142.128.
IPs used so far
There may be more, but by checking the edit history of each IP that vandalised the Jon Kennedy article (15 different IPs since 13th April), I noted the other articles he'd vandalised, and then checked those for further examples of similar vandalism, which turned up 4 further IPs.

Repeatedly attacked George Elokobi and User/User Talk pages of any users who either warned him or had reverted his vandalism. Attempted to conceal evidence by blanking the User Talk pages for his sockpuppets, and any pages which contained evidence of his vandalism. Nearly every one of his socks has requested {{unblock}}, often inserting personal attacks towards Misplaced Pages admins as the reason for unblock.
After his original account has been blocked, the vandal has made heavy use of sockpuppets (24 total identified so far) to continue, including four created several days prior to the incident.
Full chronology of vandal's actions thus far has been compiled on User:The_Fifth_Horseman/Notes.

Claims to be a graduate of the university while inserting unsourced and often inaccurate information. Aggressive responses to conflict include creation of an impersonation account timed to coincide with a userblock on another editor during arbitration. This user works out of an Arkansas school computer, and commonly vandalizes the Nick Jr. page; s/he also vandalizes pages about Arkansas television. My suggestion: block on sight.

- Santa Rosa, California, United States
- severity
- Moderate to High
- Instructions
- Block on sight, revert, and log event here.
PWeeHurman is a sockpuppeteer that was indefinitely banned on October 26, 2007 for disruption. He currently uses sockpuppets to evade bans. He has over 40 suspected sockpuppets.
Naming conventions are nearly always variations on the name "Pee-Wee Herman." There may be a copycat or copycats working as this individual, possibly coordinated through Encyclopedia Dramatica similar to efforts made by banned user JarlaxleArtemis, aka "Grawp."
This individual or individuals is/are highly abusive toward administrators and non-administrative users who attempt to circumvent vandalism by sockpuppet accounts.
He also has a known history of tagging certain articles with images of penises, penis-related items, and attacks. Should this happen, revert this and block the sockpuppet(s) immediately. Then tag the sock user name with either template: {{Blockedsock|PWeeHurman}} or {{Sockpuppet|PWeeHurman}} and hit the user talk page with {{sockblock}}, and log the event here.

Streatham and Clapham High School/Mary17x.x and UK IPs
A single user continues to heavily vandalize Streatham and Clapham High School. The text added always amounts to the same wording over its evolution, although the user has gone by various aliases in the past (currently Mary170.5, previously Mary170 (now banned), Mary17, and the UK-based IP addresses 86.147.235.127, 90.208.99.73). I have no connection to this school (I am a random US-based vandalism patroller), and have taken this page on as one of my pet projects, but I'm getting sick of repeatedly having to revert the same vandalism over and over. Something needs to be done to protect this page.
I'm not sure if this is the correct place to report this, but since this is repeated vandalism by the same person who has been warned many times and banned at least once, I'm putting it here. I'm not going to keep this on my watchlist much longer if some better protection can't be added.

LBHS Cheerleader
LBHS Cheerleader (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) is a vandal who represents herself as a cheerleader at Lemon Bay High School. She often replaces entire articles with nonsense. Such behavior got her indefinitely blocked on January 28, 2008. It is the opinion of some Wikipedians that this is the same person as User:Ieattarponsforbreakfast, but others aren't so sure. She was reported to Yahoo on February 17, 2008 when she used one of Yahoo Japan's proxy servers to vandalize an article.
Modus operandi
She often replaces entire articles with statements such as Horray for Lemon Bay or random nonsense, usually relating to cheerleaders or Lemon Bay High School. She has been known to put such statements in foreign languages, but these are usually written in English. She sometimes inserts a link to the Lemon Bay High School homepage in unrelated articles.
Editing style
- She mainly targets articles relating to schools within Charlotte County, Florida.
- She particually targets Charlotte High School (Punta Gorda, Florida). She states that Charlotte High School cheats in sports and that Lemon Bay is better. In this article, she has also made random attacks at the institution, adding completely random nonsense.
- She has also added Lemon Bay spam on other articles relating to schools in the Charlotte County district, such as Port Charlotte High School and Punta Gorda Middle School. She often replaces the entire article
- At least one school article effected, Venice High School (Florida), was not a Charlotte County school.
- She has also been known spam completely random articles, such as Macintosh. She often replaces the entire article.
- She sometimes begs someone to unblock her on the talk pages of her blocked user names. When such unblock requests are declined, she proceeds to try to make the Wiki administrators feel guilty by adding statements such as "You're mean". Such statements should always be ignored.
- She sometimes vandalizes articles in a way which supports the opposite point of view in what seems to be a poor attempt to offset her destructive nature.
- Most of her IP socks appear to be registered to the Embarq SW FLA DSL network; the only DSL provider in Charlotte and Lee county, Florida. She also uses open proxies.

User:Burgz33
This user has established a long term pattern of personal attacks, wikistalking, adding spam links, and in particular sockpuppet abuse to evade blocks. To date the user has created 16 sockpuppet accounts and vandalised articles, attacked other editors and even threatened legal action from 68 identified IP addresses (majority being AT&T from St.Louis) since December of 2006. This vandal has been the subject of numerous complaints see: . Generally the user vandalizes articles about hockey and hip hop. --Quartet 03:32, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
"Dat Dere Cell-tech Vandal"
This user, (or possibly number of users) originates from Bodybuiding.com's message board http://forum.bodybuilding.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=310862&d=1150408493. Their primary goal is to add the phrase "Dat Dere Cell-tech" to articles relating to (mainly) Ronnie Coleman, MuscleTech, and other bodybuilding-related articles. This ongoing vandalism has been taking place since June 2006. The original vandal account is Danwat1234, but also includes others including, Thegenerel (talk · contribs) and Psamtani (talk · contribs) and a large number of IP addresses. See also --Quartet 03:52, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
- Noticed new additional IPs and user accounts - vandalism now extends to the Celltech article. IPs 70.116.22.167 and 75.71.208.199 as well as User:Joush both engaged in vandalising this article referencing Bodybuilding.com in similar fashion to the vandalism above. --Yankees76 (talk) 20:31, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
User:Felipe Garcia The NASCAR/Pokémon Vandal
Felipe Garcia (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log), probably male based on the fact he includes the name "Tyler", "Tyler Racing" or "Tyler425" in some his edits and has registered an account with the name "Felipe Garcia", vandalizes articles mostly about NASCAR drivers, like this edit he made to Ryan Newman, although he also sometimes vandalizes pages about individual races, tracks, and other NASCAR-related topics. This user changes stats, usually replacing the number of races a driver has won with a very large number, and adds "PETESBRG Speedway" to the information boxes. His main targets are Kyle Petty, Greg Biffle, and Matt Kenseth, although he has recently focused more on DEI and Petty Enterprises instead of Roush drivers. This user has vandalized countless other NASCAR-related articles. His main vandal spree occured in June, but he still ovandalizes from a Midwestern US-based dynamic IP in the 63.x.x.x-64.x.x.x range or uses sockpuppets. There is a reason to believe the early IP vandalism were attacks made by Garcia because one of Garcia's sockpuppets had a username containing Tyler Racing.
Most recently, Garcia has been using sockpuppet accounts instead of a dynamic IP, and has been targeting NASCAR articles mainly Kyle Petty, always inserting false information that claims Petty is Latino. Other common NASCAR targets include Bobby Labonte, Dale Earnhardt, Adam Petty, almost anything related to Petty Enterprises, and many other topics. He also attacks Pokémon articles and Administrators' userpages, though he sometimes vandalizes random articles. He often replaces the voice actors' names in the Pokémon articles with the names of NASCAR drivers and claims the show is of Mexican origin instead of Japanese, and calls anyone who reverts his edits racist and refers to Misplaced Pages as "wiKKKipedia" in his edit summaries. He also sometimes impersonates other vandals in his edit summaries, such as "for Latino pride and epic lulz" or "Visit Felipe Garcia is back.com a must see". He has over 40 sockpuppets.
See Here and here for a complete list of socks and more details.

Runtshit
Runtshit (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) is a vandal who stalks User:RolandR. Typically, this vandal places childish taunts, often with scatological reference to "Roland" and/or "Tony", on pages relating to the Arab-Israeli conflict or to Marxism. However, the vandal has also engaged in less obvious, POV-pushing edits, defending certain notable commentators on Israel and Palestine and smearing others; a conflict of this kind may be the origin of the obsession with RolandR. The abuse began in September 2006, and continued as of 5 May 2009, at which date Category:Misplaced Pages sockpuppets of Runtshit included 893 usernames and IPs, and Category:Suspected Misplaced Pages sockpuppets of Runtshit included a further 57. The user may also be associated with confirmed sockpuppeteer Truthprofessor and permablocked users Shmuelseiman and Borisyy, with a total of 22 confirmed and suspected sockpuppets between them; a checkuser on 6 January 2009 confirmed that Zuminous and his sockpuppets are themselves sockpuppets of Runtshit. Runtshit has also established at least three sockpuppets at Simple English Misplaced Pages. Runtshit frequently uses open proxies whether logged in or not. Following a checkuser report on 2 January 2009, two IPs on the University of Haifa network were blocked as sockpuppets of this vandal. In May 2009, this vandal falsely claimed to have made 50,000 such edits; the actual number was about 6000.
Gerald Gonzalez
Gerald Gonzalez (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) is a sockpuppeteer who is notorious for POV pushing and fanboyism in Philippine-related articles such as Angel Locsin; He claimed that his last account was User:Filipino Wikipedian. The most recently suspected sock, as of April, is User:Boronganon. And I think he had done enough; he made hoaxes such as the now-huffed article Victory Combat Force Security Agency "owned" by a certain "Gomander S. Dimaporo". He made non-notable (and possibly hoax) edits to several WP articles, such as Maranao, and he claimed to be a relative of several celebrities.

TyrusThomas4lyf (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) is a persistent sock-puppeteer who had his account blocked indefinitely in May, 2007 for repeated personal attacks and edit warring on NBA-related articles, in spite of numerous warnings and attempts to mediate. For a summary of this user's past behavior, see the RFC and his talk page User talk:TyrusThomas4lyf. Prior to his block, this user also edited under the aliases IlliniPride (talk · contribs · logs) and 68.253.206.119 (talk · contribs · logs). Since his block, he has repeatedly attempted to subvert the block by resorting to sock-puppetry. Several reports were made at Misplaced Pages:Suspected sock puppets:

but he has returned time and time again.
Modus operandi
TyrusThomas4lyf sock-puppets are recognizable most easily by their typical (but not exclusive) focus on a certain range of NBA articles, signature edits, occasionally abusive edit summaries, and edit warring. Favorite articles (with some sample signature edits) include
- NBA records
- List of NBA teams by single season win percentage
- Quadruple-double
- Michael Jordan
- List of career achievements by Michael Jordan
- List of National Basketball Association players with 60 or more points in a game
- Rebound (basketball)
- List of National Basketball Association top individual scoring season averages
- Double-double
- List of career achievements by LeBron James
- Kobe Bryant
- Dwyane Wade
- Michael Johnson (athlete)
IPs tend to originate from the Chicago area. This user has also been known to use a Barnes & Noble shared account in the past, though this is uncommon.

User:Smsarmad
Despite warnings, User:Smsarmad has been changing the denomination from Shi'a Islam to Sunni Islam in many articles on Pakistani politicians, and did so a few weeks ago using this anon. He first started removing the "Shi'a" part and the sources, then started replacing it with "Sunni". See this, this and the history pages of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Ayub Khan. He has decided to ignore the warnings and continue to impose his POV on these articles. See also WWGB who has been doing the same thing to these articles by removing references to "Shi'a Islam". User:Karmaisking and sockpuppets (rotating through numbered sockpuppets)
User:Karmaisking has been indefinitely blocked for vandalism, personal attacks, soapboxing, and sockpuppeteering (confirmed through multiple checkusers, has taken to rotating through numbered accounts (User:Socppt11, User:Socppt12, User:Socppt13, User:Socppt14). Some openly admit to being other versions of the sockpuppet numbering: "Somebody must take over editing the main page. Socppt's last words".
Aliases have included User:Lagrandebanquesucre, User:KarmasBlackSwan, User:Rememberkarma, User:Timothymak. User:Lagrandebanquesucre was a particularly egregious devious approach, which began by attacking User:Karmaisking. See also confirmed and suspected sockpuppets.
Edits primarily on debt-based monetary system and criticism of fractional-reserve banking and various other pages related to monetary policy.
Has admitted to having more active sockpuppets here.
- More ongoing use of sockpuppets (documented at Checkuser [case history, as well as clear history of use of IPs without logging in to evade block (primarily edits history of own contributions to talkpages, as well as editing). See IP contribution history1, IP contribution history2.
- Yet more confirmed sockpuppets, abusive actions, etc, mostly documented under checkuser.

User:Lemons&Limes and Tiscali UK IP addresses
Modus operandi
Lemons&Limes (talk · contribs) and Tiscali UK IP addresses in the 88.108.x.x range inserts unsourced, often non-sensical mentions of "male" or "boys" or "men" in fashion articles, often suggesting that unisex items of clothings are worn more by men or that female apparel is worn commonly by men. The user sometimes inserts red herring links, and when the edits are reverted, accuses other users of vandalism (, ).
88.108.x.x IP addresses (it's a pretty wide range of dynamic IP addresses - way too many to list here, though I'd be happy to pick out examples) make similar edits in fashion articles, but also edits in articles on sexual abuse, and makes edits suggesting that males are equally victims of crimes such as rape and frotteurism.
Examples
- Phat pants ()
- Hoodies ()
- Rape ()
- Ugg boots ()
- Bondage pants ()
- Heavy metal fashion ()
- JNCO ()
There is a similar pattern of edits from a series of dynamic IPs in the 88.108.x.x range (there's a loooooot to go through, so pack a lunch, but it's all pretty much the same type of edits), and I believe this a reincarnation of User:Gothgirlangel1981, and probably User:SteelAvenger, based on bizarre edits like and , , and .
Indef blocked user Consist still disrupting
User:Consist has been indef blocked for persistent WP:DE and POV-pushing. Someone claiming to be Consist and pushing the same POV has been using several IP addresses from a fairly narrow range to clutter Talk:Clade with rambling POV pushing posts. I have made an effort to list sources relevant to the issue in question and offered that, if Consist would shut up, I'd investigate it - and noted that cladistics seems to be less well accepted among botanists (apparently Consist's background) than among zoologists. Nevertheless "Consist" threatens to keep disrupting unless his(?) POV is incorporated into the article, and has just posted another few thousand chars of rant. Until this is dealt with we will simply revert "Consist"'s posts. --Philcha (talk) 02:14, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
Erik Young
Erik Young is a vandal who has been posting diatribes into articles since 2007, mainly relating to Thai police, CIA Mafia, criminals, corruption, murder, prostitution, satanists, and a stolen credit card. He usually signs his posts with "Erik J Young, UN Human Rights Ambassador". He is known to have posted the same rants on many other websites and forums. If given the opportunity he will edit around 20 articles at a time, sometimes more than once a day. The most seriously affected articles are: Royal Thai Police, Pattaya, and Phuket Province. Other articles targeted are Thailand-related such as Bangkok, Prostitution in Thailand, Isan as well as articles on major organisations and international figures (Scotland Yard, NATO, Central Intelligence Agency, Time Warner, Colin Powell etc) and major countries and cities (London, New York, Malaysia, etc).
Typical contributions can be seen here:

User:Messenger2010
This user is the sockpuppeteer of a huge number of sockpuppets who claims they are part of a group of over 50 who's purpose is to spread (mostly false) anti-soy bean propeganda through various articles on Misplaced Pages using strongarm tactics and sockpuppets to stop any other editors from disputing the statments.See Talk:Soy protein and Talk:Biological value as one example. Favorite targets include articles on soy, soy protein, biological value, whey protein, PDCAAS, Sodium dodecyl sulfate and articles related to vegan dieting. This user or users is not particularly bright or well versed with regards to Misplaced Pages rules, however they are persistant, and will often resort to revert wars. User was most active in 2006 and 2007, however recently (January 2009) two more sockpuppets were confirmed by checkuser bringing the total number of confirmed , and suspected sockpuppets to 62.
User:Newcrewforu
This user has made user of a number of sockpuppets in order to spam a narrow range of articles and harass users.
Modus operandi
The user operates one or at most two sockpuppets at a time.
A new account is created as soon as the old one is accused of sockpuppetry. The account often but not always lays low for a few days to a week, making trivial edits. Then the account begins editing beer-related pages en masse. On their own each edit has the superficial appearance of being constructive, but form part of a pattern of spamming and harassment.
Upon being challenged, the user begins mass reverting, usually with identical edit summaries again. He maintains the veneer of civility but does not respond to discussion and removes comments and warnings on his talk page without reply. Generally he demands that any reversion be taken to the talk page. He may leave comments on talk pages warning people not to revert his edits.
Typical identifiers for the user are:
- Identical edits to a number of articles, each with the same edit summary
- Identification of legitimate edits as vandalism ()
- User page and talk page each containing identical, short, nonsensical sentences:
- Fixation with the BJCP and adding links to its style guide on beer-related pages
- Fixation with User:Patto1ro and websites run by him (); with User:Mikebe, on one occasion impersonating him (User:Miklebe); and with User:Editor437, impersonating him with at least one account (User:347Editor)
A typical incident is illustrated through these edits:

Jason Giambi vandal
This is a coordinated attack by various sockpuppets who attempt to insert a variation on a copyrighted article about baseball player Jason Giambi as part of a bogus religion with Giambi as the object of their "worship." There are no particular sockpuppet naming conventions, but the contributions are generally variations on the name Giambi, i.e., "Giambiology," "Giambiosis," etc. Socks have been known to attack user pages and talk paged of administrators and others who report their misbehavior either via both registered accounts and anonymous IPs.

Modus operandi is hard to describe, but obvious when found. Fond of nonsense made-up words, such as "ba-limp" and various attempts at onomatopaeia. Edits an extremely eclectic but relatively limited array of articles such as The Portsmouth Herald, Joel Gertner, Emilio Delgado, Bert (Sesame Street), Candlepin bowling, Losin' Myself, Jon Bauman. Only consistent area of focus is National Wrestling Federation and various wrestlers' articles, especially Andre the Giant.
Vandalism is low-volume but very persistent. Often gets verbally aggressive when discovered or reverted, but gives up fairly quickly—until the next time. Often blanks his socks' user talk pages to remove warnings and block notices.
The edits appear to be from IP addresses assigned to the Palace Station casino—apparently public terminals. Probably a group of kids or other immature people, rather than a single vandal.
Bambifan101
Bambifan101 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) claims to be a young boy in the southern United States with a professed love of Disney movies along with Furby and the Teletubbies. Insists that all of the pages and talk pages on said subjects are wrong and subsequently tries to "correct" them. User becomes vindictive and defensive when cornered, claiming that his parents are wealthy and will soon be buying Misplaced Pages. Edit summaries generally have snide comments as well. Usernames almost always refer to Disney- or Teletubbies-related material; an example would be sockpuppet User:TheRescuers. Although Bambifan101 does not edit often at this point, he does perform as many edits and/or acts of trolling as possible until the sockpuppet account(s) is/are blocked. User's grammar, spelling and syntax as seen on talk pages and edit summaries are poor. It is unclear whether or not this is just a ruse, but the poor quality of the entries remains consistent.
This user may have been a sock of User:Mewtwowimmer.
Seth Hilton/DrVince vandal
Seth hilton discography (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) This user, who may be based in New Zealand, professes to be a pop music singer by the name of Seth Hilton. He has a good grasp of wiki formatting and often inserts photos of a person presumed to be this user; the poor quality photos with superimposed text are generally that of a slender teenaged boy wearing a pink Halloween wig. Sockpuppet accounts are often the names of his "singles" and are sometimes proceeded by the name "DrVince." Articles are about his "singles," his non-existent record label known as "LollyStick Records" and a bogus television program, "Cindy and the TV Show." A sockpuppet account used this as a username. Like MascotGuy, Seth Hilton often uses one account to create multiple sockpuppets and does not interact with other users. Grammar, spelling and syntax are poor while the content/context of the articles are mixed bags of fantasy with fact, although the facts are often unrelated to the subject. An example would be a synopsis of the TV show which made use of Sesame Street characters.

The Terry Ananny Spammer (User:Ananny)
Persistent cross-wiki spammer and sock-puppeteer since at least December 2006- ongoing as of March 2009. Uses multiple IPs originating in the Toronto area to add the name of Terry M. Ananny, a non notable artist (as independently established in two independent discussions on the German Misplaced Pages and the [ English Misplaced Pages) to List of Canadian artists, List of Canadian painters, Naive art, Christmas card, and other pages. Variations include "paintings reproduced on UNICEF cards", the creation of useless interwiki links, an external link to the artist's website, and the addition of {{unreferenced}} tags to those same pages.
Created Terry Ananny, which was deleted, (now indefinitely protected because of repeated attempts to re-create the article) despite attempts to interfere with the AFD process using the sock User:Jane Rushmore. Created List of Canadian Contemporary Painters under the account User:CanadianArtworks in an attempt to escape notice of vandalism on List of Canadian painters. Has also attempted to create articles on herself using variations on spelling, such as TERRY ANANNY, Terry Marie Ananny, Terry M Ananny Terry ananny or Terry M. Ananny. See also: multiple sock nominations associated with this user-.
This editor, presumably the artist herself, is unlikely to stop any time soon. She believes that:
User:Freshacconci has dealt with this user both here and on the Simple English Wiki, and also reported her to WP:WPSPAM. As a result terryananny.com has been added to the Meta spam blacklist.

User:Liu Tao
This is a very difficult editor who has been pushing his POV on Taiwan-related articles for months. These articles just get more and more confusing as the edit war goes, and it becomes impossible to clarify them without being reverted - mainly by him. He does contribute to the talk pages but no matter what's the result of the discussion, he'll keep pushing his POV against the consensus and against the reliable sources we provide. He himself rarely bother to provide sources despite having been asked to do so numerous times.
Here's are some recent examples (there are tenth of them):
- Removal of reliable sources:
- Edits againt consensus on talk page:
- Adding back controversial content without providing sources (or fake sources like the one next to "Chinese"):
- He's been warned to stop edit warring twice but clearly doesn't intend to stop as can be seen in this edit.

- I completely concur with this. Liu Tao is pushing tertiary sources like encyclopedia.com claiming they are more reliable than official publications of the government of the country under discussion. His edit summaries directly contradict our policies., when something is disputed, you write as closely as possible to the sources. Adding additional adjectives (de facto, de jure, official, provisional, etc) that are not found in the sources provided, when those are the terms under dispute, is a form of Original Research. His talk page style is to badger the same points repeatedly, whether or not they have been addressed, and simply to revert changes to the article. This editing is disruptive, and discussion with him, going on months, has not been conductive to improving his manner. SchmuckyTheCat (talk) 16:16, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
ECW500
ECW500 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) is a chronic sockpuppeteer who primarily attacks articles on professional wrestling, especially RD Reynolds and Wrestlecrap. Usernames usually, but not always, impersonate or attack legitimate user GaryColemanFan. Other usernames may be variations on the original name, such as User:XPW500. His other target article is that of the breakfast cereal, Fruity Pebbles. Active since 2006 and blocked since 2007, ECW500 has become active of late and is less than subtle about his return with such usernames as User:GaryColmanFan2 Electric Boogaloo. Grammar, syntax and spelling are generally poor and inappropriate remarks are often left in edit summaries.
