arb case

Based on the evidence I saw, I think you are right. However, have been involved in a previous case, I think the some of the heads are to get to the real problem makers, the partisan edit warriors. In a previous case, I have been 'reminded' or something like that, suddenly inserted at the last minute after most arbs had already voted without a single ref presented for what I supposedly had done wrong. I have asked multiple times for those refs, and never received them. As for the why, I have my suspicion, but won't voice that. -- Kim van der Linde 20:02, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

Celebration cancelled

OK, no round of wiki-beer for us. I thought a majority was needed for the proposals to pass, but apparently you got thrown in the same ditch as the rest of us. Sorry for dragging you into this. Unless the guidelines amnesty is granted (and I don't have extremely high hopes), I will probably not volunteer much more of my precious time to this ungrateful project. Are you going to apply? RFAR/West Bank - Judea and Samaria

This arbitration case has been closed and the final decision is available at the link above. Canadian Monkey (talk · contribs), G-Dett (talk · contribs), MeteorMaker (talk · contribs), Nickhh (talk · contribs), Nishidani (talk · contribs), NoCal100 (talk · contribs), and Pedrito (talk · contribs) are prohibited from editing any Arab-Israeli conflict-related article/talk page or discussing on the dispute anywhere else on the project. Jayjg (talk · contribs · blocks · protections · deletions · page moves · rights · RfA) is also prohibited from editing in the area of conflict, and he is stripped of his status as a functionary and any and all associated privileged access, including the CheckUser and Oversight tools and the checkuser-l, oversight-l, and functionaries-en mailing lists. Jayjg is also thanked for his years of service.

After six months, these editors may individually ask the Arbitration Committee to lift their editing restrictions after demonstrating commitment to the goals of Misplaced Pages and ability to work constructively with other editors. However, restrictions may be temporarily suspended for the exclusive purpose of participating in the discussion of draft guidelines for this area.

In the meantime, the community is strongly urged to pursue current discussions to come to a definitive consensus on the preferred current and historical names of the region that is the source of conflict in this case. Note that this must be consistent with current Misplaced Pages guidelines on reliable sources, a neutral point of view, and naming conventions. This decision will be appended onto this case within two months from the close of the case.

The Independent

I believe your participation in that article's Talk page violates the conditions of your topic ban, and have asked for clarification here. NoCal100 (talk) 14:19, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

  • Please note the arbitration ruling states "For the purposes of editing restrictions in this case, the "area of conflict" shall be defined as it was defined in the Palestine-Israel articles case, encompassing the entire set of Arab-Israeli conflict-related articles, broadly interpreted, as well as any edits on the subject of the Palestine/Israel dispute on any other article or talk page, or any other page throughout the project." Basically, all the sanctioned editors need to stay well away from I-P issues and find something else to do. If you want to discuss the circulation figures for The Independent, be my guest, but once you start in on their coverage of I-P issues, you've violated your topic ban. Blocking is the next step. Thanks. Thatcher 16:15, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

Notice, warning on your arbcom ban

Per that discussion, please consider this an official administrative warning--you are barred from any discussion or edits broadly construed of anything to do with the I/P conflicts. Should you edit these areas in any way again, you can and will be blocked 24 hours for your next edit after this notification. Apologies. rootology (C)(T) 16:13, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
