Helsinki (Finland) Buenos Aires Argentina was the first Latin American state to recognize the independence Baltic states on August 26, 1991.

In 2001, the Lithuanian embassy moved from Caracas, Venezuela, to Buenos Aires, now serves all of South America.

It is estimated that between the final years 1800s, 1930, around 35, 000 Lithuanians made Argentina their new home.
