The non-"dispute resolution" wikipedia policy and guideline topics are currently at Misplaced Pages:Current surveys (although that page may be renamed in the future).
Further, policy matters are also discussed at Misplaced Pages:Village pump (policy).
This list is only for when policy and guideline issues are still problematic after inconclusive talks. Don't list here, unless steps prior to "further dispute resolution", as described in Misplaced Pages:dispute resolution, have been concluded. Please always make a link to where the main body of prior inconclusive talk can be found.
- Misplaced Pages:Centralized discussion/Fair use and comics A centralized discussion page to invite discussion on and form a consensus regarding the fair use of images within articles regarding comics. 08:01, 25 November 2005 (UTC)
- Misplaced Pages:Trivia Dispute over whether or not a consensus was ever actually reached to make this a guideline.
- Misplaced Pages:Article_point_of_view_vs_NPOV, a propsed amendment to the policy on "Neutral point of view" as applied to articles which describe a specific point of view.
- Misplaced Pages:Block all anonymous edits as an editor and author I am simply tired of having to watch and edit articles which are continuously vandalized by anonymous (i.e., identified only by IP number). Please let's discuss a policy of banning them altogether as a policy.
- Misplaced Pages:Naming_conventions/Geographic_names is an attempt to create a policy that would solve all our disputes about geographic names (to avoid Gdansk votes). We are discussing current proposals on the talk page.
- Misplaced Pages:Signatures should not contain images discusses the need, or lack thereof, of signatures in images
- Misplaced Pages:Audience is brief and perhaps less clear than it should be.
- Misplaced Pages talk:Schools is back (in pog form). User input is requested on both the ubjects of what schools to include, and how to name school articles. 02:25, 11 November 2005 (UTC)
- Misplaced Pages:Arbitration Committee Elections December 2005/Straw poll is intended to gauge public opinion on whether ArbCom members should be elected or an appointed. 19:36, 10 November 2005 (UTC)
- Talk:Daniel Brandt The subject of this article asserts that the article is an invasion of privacy and insists he is a private person and that the article should be deleted19:16, 10 November 2005 (UTC)
- Misplaced Pages:Editor tags (WP:ET) - for replacing excessive or 'permanent' templates in article and moving them to talk. Editable to references specific talk/dispute sections. (Crossposted at WP:RFC/STYLE)-St|eve 07:13, 5 November 2005 (UTC)
- talk:IAR——Should the WP:IAR be changed to give administrators unlimited power? This proposed policy change affects the political balance of power at Misplaced Pages, issues of content control, and goes to the heart of socio-political philosophy. Also at issue is the question of whether the signatures of supporters of the original IAR, including Jimbo Wales, are still relevant now that the IAR has changed. Dispute resolutions have been attempted on the Misplaced Pages:IAR talk page and in the archives, and have resulted in two revert wars and one page protection. 17:49, 9 November 2005 (UTC)
- Misplaced Pages:Be_bold_in_updating_pages - The longstanding guideline is being edit warred for the fourth or fifth time this year, and the revision (which contradicts later sections of the guideline) requires prior discussion of significant changes, in effect gutting the policy. 18:39, 8 November 2005 (UTC)
- Misplaced Pages:Requests for arbitration#DreamGuy - what does one do when the Arbitration Committee fails?
- Misplaced Pages:POV fork - an editor has marked this as a guideline. Is this appropriate at this stage?
- Misplaced Pages:Response to The Register and Misplaced Pages:Let's work on a common response to the Guardian are badly in need of direction.
- Misplaced Pages talk:Make technical articles accessible - stalled discussion regarding audience of technical articles
- Misplaced Pages:Requests for comment/Crown copyright — As currently defined, Crown copyright is in conflict with GFDL, which significantly impairs the ability of users in Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, among others, to illustrate government-related articles, as in many cases (political biographies, military decorations, etc.) there's simply no viable way around using Crown-copyrighted images. Discussion is to clarify to what extent fair use can be applied to these types of images. Bearcat 23:45, 23 October 2005 (UTC)
- Misplaced Pages:Gallery namespace is a proposal for a new namespace similar to the category namespace but image-specialised. CG 19:58, 19 October 2005 (UTC)
- Misplaced Pages:Requested moves has attempted to defined consensus at 60% for moving pages merely to ease the work of admins. This is not compatible either with general practice of how consensus is built on Misplaced Pages. The page also encourages approval voting (not straw polls as a way of solving disputes and disagreement, rather than encouraging people to discuss the issues first. This goes against core policy such Misplaced Pages is not a democracy and has led to very problematic disputes surrounding several article moves.
