Xavier Austin is a fictional character in the Australian soap opera Home and Away, portrayed by actor David Jones-Roberts from late 2008.
Background
Xavier has a mother, Gina, and two older brothers named Hugo and Brendan (who has a mental disability). Their father, Jeremy, has left the family. Xavier dated a girl named Freya, who his mum referred to as a bad influence, before coming to the bay.
Storylines
Arrival in Summer Bay
Xavier turned up in Summer Bay in 2008 with some mates for the holidays. He got sent home shortly after because Tony found drugs in his jacket. Shortly after, he turned up again with his mother, Gina, for the funeral of his cousin Jack Holden. Hugo arrived later, so Hugo and Xavier started their new lives in Summer Bay.

Jack's Death
Xavier arrived back in the Bay along with his mum, Gina, after his cousin Jack Holden was shot dead by Angelo Rosetta. Soon after his brother Hugo Austin turned up for the funeral, it was discovered that Xavier dislikes his brother because he feels he abandoned the family, leaving Xavier to look after his Mum and Brendan. After the funeral, Hugo suggested to Xavier that they should get a place together in the Bay and make a new start.
Moving to Summer Bay
Xavier & his elder brother Hugo move to the Bay to make a new life for themselves. Shortly afterwards he starts a relationship with Ruby when the two admitt to liking eachother. However his ex, Freya arrives in the Bay shortly afterwards, stirring up trouble between Xavier and Ruby. When Freya arrives in the Bay, Xavier choses her over Ruby, telling Ruby that he knows Freya is bad for him but can't let her go. Although it doesn't take long for Xavier to realise Ruby is the one he really likes & wants to be with. He eventually chose Ruby and so Freya left the Bay taking the $500 from Ruby who gave it to her to pay off the dealer she owed money to so that Xavier wouldn't have to meet the dealer & explain why they didn't have his money. Xavier & Ruby are now happily together.
Brendan
Xavier and his brother Brendan are very close. His nickname for Brendan is 'bandicoot'. He loves his brother. Hugo and Xavier offered to look after Brendan after Gina fractured her ankle. Brendan caused Roman and Leah's car accident. Xavier is trying to protect Brendan by covering for him saying that it was himself that caused the car accident. Later on Xavier feels the guilt after finding out Roman is blind and decides to tell Roman the truth about who carried out the car accident. Roman forgave Xavier and said he would do the same thing if he was in his position.
New Love?
Over the next few months, Annie and Xavier's friendship will be tested as Xavier starts to develope feelings towards her causing problems for her and Jai. Xavier and Jai will fall out because of this, but will have to put their differences aside when Annie goes missing. It is yet to be revealed where Ruby fits in all of this.
