Vision of a Knight

Wasn't sure about the date of the work, the national gallery think it's about 1504, see

Hi - can't confess to being a art fan : I just wander around wikipedia doing tiny improvements here and there. I'm suprised the project is missing all these works by Raphael though, looks like people have concentrated on more popular area like Da Vinci, so it's great that you're improving it.

categories

Hi - category page is looking a bit broken Category:Raphael, eg. "Portrait of Bindo Altoviti (Raphael)" is listed beneath a heading of "<".

Changing the Portrait of Bindo Altoviti to Category:Raphael seems to fix it though. What do you think?

Pisa

I appreciate the work you're doing on this article. I've worked hard to develop a quasi moribund article into an article with some content. But I'm not an expert in Italian history. A native Italian has certainly a definite advantage. I'm just back from a trip to Pisa, Florence, Lucca and Sienna. I've already uploaded some photos to the Commons. And now I'm writing articles to match the photos. I've started with Pisa (now in the process of improvement by you). If you could find the time, take also a look at : Campo dei Miracoli, Leaning Tower of Pisa, Lucca, Duomo di San Martino. At this moment I'm working on Basilica di San Frediano. In the next weeks I'll look into the articles on Sienna and Firenze and see what needs to be done. JoJan 16:48, 28 October 2005 (UTC)

Who took this photograph and how come it's in the public domain? Some info would be nice, considering how unlikely its public-domainity seems for one who doesn't have all the facts. -- Jao 17:04, 31 October 2005 (UTC)

Article Improvement Drive deal:

I have a proposal. I will gladly support all your Article Improvement Drive submissions if you support my Dinosaur submission; (above yours on the AID page). Frederick II, Holy Roman Emperor

Thanks for your edits at Frederick II, Holy Roman Emperor, you seem to have added some good material, but please see my questions at Talk:Frederick II, Holy Roman Emperor. -- Jmabel | Talk 01:56, 5 November 2005 (UTC)

Raphael Rooms

Thanks for adding all the great photos and new content. I noticed that the picture labeled The Meeting of Leo the Great and Attila is of the ceiling of the room rather than the painting in question. I also started and article for the Borgia Apartment any contributions would be most welcome. Sumergocognito 17:15, 6 November 2005 (UTC)

Alan Ford

Hi! I noticed you added some good info to Alan Ford (comic book). It's great to see Italians contributing to that article :) It would also be very good to get some information on the television adaptation. I only had a chance to see one episode, but I don't know anything about that. Could you dig out some information on the TV series? --Dejan Čabrilo 08:48, 7 November 2005 (UTC)

Help with History of Rome

Cordiali saluti, Bill 23:36, 7 November 2005 (UTC)

Caravaggio's Boy Peeling a Fruit

Thanks for the help with the caption details on this article. Just a couple of questions. Shouldn't it also say, in addition to the date of the painting, the dates for the artist? And shouldn't it say that the Longhi Collection (or any other gallery/collection)is in Rome (or wherever)? PiCo 10:50, 9 November 2005 (UTC)

History of Rome

Just a question: how many "Rome under the Holy Roman Empire" sections are in your version of the article? After finding it, please reverto your edits. --Panairjdde 16:53, 11 November 2005 (UTC)

You did not read the article, since that section is repeated (as many others) two times: check sections 2.2 and 6.1, sections 2.3 and 6.2, and so on. And don't forget to revert.--Panairjdde 17:15, 11 November 2005 (UTC)

Girl reading a Letter at an Open Window

Hi, I noticed you posted this. Have you secured a GFDL release for the text, which is taken from here ]? If so, could you add it to the talk page for the article. Thanks. --JJay 02:41, 12 November 2005 (UTC)

Wurzburg

Hello. Any reason why you reverted my edit, without explanation? The words that I corrected to "of, "submitted" and "secularised" have been changed back to their mispellings: "od", "sumbitted" and "secolarized", and some other improvements have been rendered null and void. What does "with centre in the the city" mean? Cheers JackofOz 11:44, 16 November 2005 (UTC)

Our messages seem to have "crossed in the mail". I'll fix it. Ciao JackofOz 11:45, 16 November 2005 (UTC)

Filippino lippi

Image Tagging Image:Filippino lippi.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Filippino lippi.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Misplaced Pages (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{gfdl}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{fairuse}}. See Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by going to "Your contributions" from your user page and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. ➥the Epopt 04:22, 17 November 2005 (UTC)

Control theory

Hey there!

Sorry for so quickly editing back your edit — Misplaced Pages was being sluggish and I found something else to fix in the text and I edited that, without noticing you had tinkered with the text in those barely three minutes.

My main objection about the content was the GREATER THAN part — the left half of the Real axis is less than zero, and inside the circle is less than one. Same in the block of text below. Having a pole greater than these values results in the instability of the system pretty certainly.

I’m not well versed enough in the topic to know whether you’re right with the OR EQUAL part :) But as far as I can remember, it is best avoided to have a system marginally stable.

Material from www.wga.hu

I have verified that Misplaced Pages does not currently have GFDL permission for use of all content and images from www.wga.hu (See User_talk:Cryptic for further details). Even with permission, as per GFDL, the derivation of the content must be acknowledged on an article's talk page. See Talk:Madonna with Sts John the Baptist and Donatus (Verrocchio) for an example. I have to ask you to please desist from creating new articles copied from www.wga.hu pending clarification of copyright status. --JJay 18:53, 20 November 2005 (UTC)

Sorry. Maybe I proceded it with too much enthusiasm. I asked www.wga.hu if could use their pages, and they simply replied I could. I didn't know the exact way to specify in the WIkipedia article that the used text was their. Therefore, what can I do? Now ALL these articles must be rejected? I have to notify www.wga.hu ALL the times I add text from their database? Please notice I never act in a fraudulent way, since in my opinion I DID receive permission to use the text.Attilios.

Thanks for your response. Enthusiasm is good and I'm not accusing you of fraud or anything like that. I am contacting www.wga.hu to secure GFDL permission for all the articles submitted as well as future content. They may very well grant permission for this. In that case, the main thing that needs to be done is to acknowledge the permission on the article talk pages. If they refuse permission, though, then I'm afraid that the copyright material would have to be removed from the articles. --JJay 19:45, 20 November 2005 (UTC)

Order of units of measure.

The English-language Misplaced Pages does not have a policy to put SI units first automatically. Rather, the unit of measurement that was in the original source should be placed first, and a conversion second. Please do not make such changes. It is important that we keep the original measurement and conversions separate and distinguished from one another. —Matthew Brown (T:C) 23:12, 20 November 2005 (UTC)

Aircraft infoboxes deprecated

WikiProject Aircraft has decided to deprecate the practice of using specification infoboxes, and those that exist are in the process of being removed. Please do not add or re-add them. —Matthew Brown (T:C) 23:19, 20 November 2005 (UTC)

Image copyright

You cannot assume that a photograph is not copyrighted simply because it is found in multiple places on the web (c.f. Image:Milo Manara.jpg.) You must show that it is NOT copyrighted; without that demonstration, we must assume that it is. I am listing your image as unsourced, which will lead to its removal in 7 days if you do not provide source information. It is not sufficient to list the website you took it from: you must determine the true source and copyright holder. —Matthew Brown (T:C) 23:22, 20 November 2005 (UTC)

Unit conversions

Unit conversions should exist, and do in many cases because of the sterling work of User:Bobblewik among others. I personally try to include them (in either direction) when adding content. As to infoboxes, the issue with most of the WikiProject Aircraft people was that the aircraft infoboxes unduly gave a high priority to statistics of interest to few rather than the true 'meat' of the article. They also look bad when they're fairly empty, which they are on many older aircraft. Thanks! —Matthew Brown (T:C) 18:14, 21 November 2005 (UTC)

Nonantola

Please do not remove the {{unreferenced}} tag from the article unless and until you've provided a reference for the information. Please remember that Misplaced Pages is an encyclopedia, and thus all articles should cite proper references. Thank You. Zunaid 14:04, 24 November 2005 (UTC)

Sorry. I was new here at the time. I substited a cover from Time. Attilios
That's ok, as long as we get it "cleaned up" :) Although while you are at it I also found Image:Fausto Coppi.jpg, Image:Crema Stemma.png, Image:Angelo Branduardi chitarra.jpg and Image:Bobbio-Stemma.png (dunno if there are more) simmilarly licenced as "wikipedia screenshots". Could you please either copy the source and licence information for them over from the Italian wiki, or replace them with other images and list the old ones for deletion. Thanks. --Sherool (talk) 15:28, 28 November 2005 (UTC)
