Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Misplaced Pages articles, as you did to Airliners.net. Doing so violates Misplaced Pages's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 00:10, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

Re: Caveat Emptor

Re your message: I am not an Airliners.net member nor am I affiliated in any way with the website. I believe I have looked at the site twice a long time ago, but that is it. Your addition was removed not because of any bias towards the moderators of the forums, but because your additions were not in a neutral point of view, which is a core principal of Misplaced Pages. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 04:03, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

Please stop. If you continue to violate Misplaced Pages's neutral point of view policy by adding commentary and your personal analysis into articles, as you did to Airliners.net, you will be blocked from editing Misplaced Pages. Wuhwuzdat (talk) 17:27, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

Point of View vs Fact

Your edits to the Airliners.net article are suggestive of someone who has an axe to grind with Airliners.net. Because it prevents an overly negative viewpoint of the site, it breaks Misplaced Pages's Neutral Point of View policy. -- Hawaiian717 (talk) 06:21, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Airliners.net, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Misplaced Pages's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Misplaced Pages article or website of your organization in other articles (see Misplaced Pages:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

feel free to read my replies, and then leave....Further comments by you on my talk page are unwelcome, and will be deleted on sight. Please aim any further outbursts of demented paranoia at your clients, who, mercifully wont have to listen anymore. Wuhwuzdat (talk) 19:12, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

Re: Restland Cemetery

Since you continue to leave me messages, I believe that I can ignore your previous request to leave you alone. I deleted the text you added to Restland Cemetery not because they are not factual (I have no doubt that they are), but because you copied and pasted the material straight from the the cemetary's website. The website has a copyright mark on the bottom left of the page which covers any and all text on the webpage. Since the material is copyrighted, it can not be added verbatim to Misplaced Pages as that would be a copyright violation. Please see WP:COPYRIGHT for our policies on copyrights. I made no edits related to Stevie Ray Vaughn's aunt, so I do not know what this has to do with anything that I did.

You are welcome to file a complaint against me or other editors if you wish. For civility issues with editors, which I believe is the basis of your complaints against myself and other editors, you may visit Misplaced Pages:Wikiquette alerts. Alternatively, if the issue goes beyond civility in your opinion, you may try Misplaced Pages:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents. However, I believe that I have been polite to you in all matters and that all of my edits were within Misplaced Pages policy. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 20:48, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

Re your message: As I told you in my previous message, the factuality of the text you added is not in dispute. I really do believe that it is factual since it came from the cemetery's website. The problem is that the text came straight from the cemetary's website and that is a copyright violation. You may have changed a few words here and there, but the vast majority of the text was copied from the website.
As for your theoretical question, the issue is still one of copyright and it doesn't matter who you are or if you are associated with the cemetery in any fashion. Copyright is copyright, end of theoretical question. However, if you are associated with the cemetery in some manner, then you have a conflict of interest and it is recommended that you do not edit the article. But like I said, the issue is not one of conflict of interest, factuality, or even neutrality. The issue is solely copyright. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 21:07, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
Re your message: I do not see any text on the article as it stands now that is a copyright violation from any other website which is not a copy of the Misplaced Pages article. You are welcome to point out which of the three sentences on the article are copyright violations and I will be glad to remove them or you may remove them yourself. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 21:13, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
Never mind, I misread your last comment. I will look into it and respond in a moment. -- Gogo Dodo (talk)

The recent edit you made to Restland Cemetery has been reverted, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Misplaced Pages without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Misplaced Pages takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Wuhwuzdat (talk) 20:58, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
